...

"Seriously."

Thank you. I froze and held my head. I heard it. A voice. A single voice.

"Who are you?"

My name is too long and foriegn for you to understand.

"You got a nickname?"

...Chase...

" Chase. Can I see you?"

My demon form could blind you. It's more than your deepest nightmares could even imagine.

"Human form? Is that possible?"

...I've never tried it...

I laid out on the sidewalk and waited. I hold the necklace to my chest, hoping he can't see through this thing.

"Please try, it'll be easier if I can see you"

Give me some room, human.

I place the necklace on the floor, it began to shake and a cloud of black and purple began to form over the necklace. Then a boy around my age appeared, although he must have been what, a million trillion years old? But I had to admit, he was kind of cute. OH GOD, DID I REALLY THINK THAT?! He had black hair and a black beanie on, he had a grey flannel with a white undershirt. Jeans and converse finished his outfit along with several piercings and bracelets. He dusted himself off, and came close to me. I couldn't stop looking at him, blushing slightly. He flicked me in the forehead.

"OUCHIE!" I rubbed my forehead, a red spot was left.

"I'm solid in the human world." he said to his amazement. I smiled ignoring the stinging from the flick.

"I'm glad to meet you Chase, i'm Sierra but you can call me..... Sierra." I offered my hand, and he shook it.

"I wanted to thank you, no one has ever done that to me before. I mean, I'm a demon."

"You haven't done anything to me, how could I? "

"Actually I did try to steal your soul, but you're too pure aren't ya, goodie gumdrop."I cringed and balled my hand in a fist. Douche. I

regret saving him almost immediately.

"Well then, I think you a really weak demon! I'm totally a bad girl! I do all the bad stuff." I lied. Chase raised and eyebrow and folded his arms.

"On really? Ever stole? Drugs? Cigarettes?"

"Pffft, that stuff is so easy! I like challenges,Chasey."

"Chase, just Chase. Okay if you're so bad then have you ever killed? Dug a knife in a man's chest or shot a bullet through his head. Ever felt warm blood in your very own hands." I gulped.

"Well...um-you see!" Fast as the speed of light, Chase

stood two inches from my face.

"Try not to lie to me, Adalanche. I'm already becoming your protector. Don't make me regret it."

"Yes-um-of course...not....wait what?"

"I'm becoming your demon protector, want me or not?". My smile grew and I tackled Chase in a hug, we fell to the ground and Chase pushed at my head.

After the awkward hug, and looks on the street I grabbed his hand and took him to my house, texting Lucky to tell her I got a roommate. I unlocked the door to my apartment,

"I have rules, we need to keep all doors open, except for the bathroom door. You try anything weird I will beat you up. Lastly, peanut butter is mine! You can eat anything but the peanut butter! Got it?" I finally managed to get the door open.

"Demons don't eat anything but souls. Souls aren't needed though, just a nice treat." He said with a straight face, walking into the small apartment.

"Oh, erm.... okay then. Sorry but I don't think I have any souls in the fridge.." I blush,

"I eat according to my masters convenience." He slumped into the cheap couch.

"Since you've never been in your human form before you must not know what a human feels like.. you can take my bed for the night." I imagine myself face palming, 'never felt a human bed before?' Stupid Sierra.

"Then my master will be uncomfortable." I scrunched my nose and stared at him.

"What?" he says with no expression,

"Don't call me master, and I don't care what you think is convenient for me. just.... you know... uhh.... have your own mind I guess." I chuckle awkwardly. Chase stood and walked over to me, he was taller than me so he leaned to my face

"Master, you are my top priority. I will sleep on the sofa."

"Don't call me master. Fine, if that's really what you want. Just shower first, there should be a towel in there for you already."

"Ma-Sierra, you shower first, hot water is better for you." I glare at Chase,

"Shower right now or i'm gonna sleep on the couch. Your choice." Chase sighs and walks to the bathroom, there's a pause before the shower turns on. I sigh,

"Man, why does he have to be so persistent?" I say to myself. I grab blankets and pillows from the closet, and take them to the couch. I sit on the couch tired from the recent exercise and the long day I had, and I slowly faded into sleep.

My eyes fluttered opened and a face aligned with mine, I jumped back and fell off the bed and onto the floor.

"Good Morning Master, it is 4 hours after the sunrise." I rub my eyes and look at Chase. Sun rises at 5 in the morning, 5 hours.

"CHASE, IT'S NINE ALREADY?!?! OH GOD I'M GOING TO BE LATE. LUCKY WILL BE HERE ANY MOMENT!"

"Do you mean... female with the short blonde hair?" Lucky poked her head in the doorway,

"Hey babe, your boyfriend let me in. He's cute but he can't make a cup of coffee to save his life." I sighed and stood up,

"He's not my boyfriend, and both of you get out so I can change." I threw on a shirt and jeans before running out with Lucky, Chase ran behind me. I skid to a stop and turned to Chase.

"Lucky. RUN AHEAD!" I took out the necklace. "Get in, I am not taking you to school."

"But I am human, I am convenient."

"I don't want to deal with the girl's and teacher's questions, get in." Chase folded his arms and didn't budge. This kid.

"FINE." I felt a little bad, but I had never had a evil demon as my bodyguard before.

When Chase and I made it into the school all eyes came our way. It was kinda weird, last time I had this many eyes on me I was pantsed by Amber in 5th grade. We started down the school halls, he grabbed my hand and pulled me back when I was almost run over by the computer cart. God the girls are giving me disgusted looks.... I don't know why though. Wait, I do. I'm a nerd, he's a hottie. NOT A GOOD MIX! I smiled at him and whispered for him to get enrolled. He lowered his eyes and we parted ways, I sighed as I made my way to class. Getting dirty looks from girls in the halls, guys starting to check me out since they think I'm taken.

"CHASE AND I AREN'T DATING!" I slam the door to my classroom. Today is off to a good start.
