Lucky hooks onto my arm and we walked to school. She tries talking about stuff but my head is spinning so fast, I can barely react. I plop my stuff on my desk and stare at the board. Our teacher stands up and walks to the door pulling in a student.

"Good morning everyone, we have a new student so greet him, will ya?"

A boy with blonde hair and hazel eyes steps in. He wore a blue button up and jeans. His whole appearance was tidy and well put together yet not dorky.

"James?", I heard myself say aloud. Not loud enough for everyone to hear but loud enough for James to look at me and smirk. He turned to the class and smiled.

"Hello, I'm James. Nice to meet you all."

"James, we have an available seat beside Rebecca, Kevin, and Sierra. Pick one and sit down", our teacher said pointing to each seat. James moved his way beside me and sat down. Each desk was an individual so he was directly beside me but he was close.

Chase's eyes darted over to me and Lucky smiled at James. I ignore Chase and ask James how his day was so far,

"It's great that I get to sit next you, I don't know anyone else here." I laugh kindly,

"Yeah, it's great to see you. Do you have your schedule? We can see if you have anymore classes with me, and at lunch we could hang out. Right Lucky?"

"Yeah totally!" said Lucky,

"Perfect. Here's my schedule." Lucky and I look at his schedule,

"Looks like you have third period with me, and fourth with Lucky." I smile.

"Woah! You are in all the advanced classes!"

"Yeah, apparently I'm smart.", James scratched the back of his neck.

"Uh oh, Lucky don't get competitive on the poor kid." I say jokingly,

"Pfft, you know I don't have the tolerance to be in advance classes." I just laughs and I see how relaxed James is with us, looks like we're his first friends here at Harkmen. The bell begins to ring,

"If you have any questions about the homework just let me know." I say to James, he nods and waves.

"Oh, yeah we sit outside the cafeteria by the west wing at lunch." he nods and we go our separate ways. Chase walks up beside me, he doesn't say a word and yet I feel his angry aura as James walks away.

"How do you know him?"

"I met him yesterday, why do you care?"

"I don't like him. Stop being friends with him."

"Well he doesn't like you and I am still friends with you, oh wait, we aren't friends are we." I say coldly.

"As your bodyguard, I am entitled to protect you. And I say that guy is no good. Stop seeing him." I step in front of him and poke him in the chest, angrily.

"Well maybe you shouldn't be my bodyguard then."

"Why? You don't want me to be?"

"You obviously don't like me, so why don't you just leave me."

"I never said I didn't like you."

"But I can tell you were thinking it."

"Bullshit, Sierra. If I didn't like you, why would I be protecting you?!"

"Honestly I don't know, but yesterday you clearly didn't want me around. I saw the look you gave me, you regretted saying you'll be my bodyguard."

"Sierra, are you an idiot?! I wouldn't have called Lucky to take care of you if I didn't like you!" tears filled my eyes,
