The day was long, I didn't see Chase at all. They probably had to go through paperwork and show him around the school. I was a little worried that they might ask about his parents or guardians. I live by myself because my parents wanted me to learn some responsibility. I put my stuff in my locker and threw on my backpack. I turned and fell face to face with Chase.

"JESUS CHRIST, CHASE. I am going to die of a heart attack at age 16. How did your day go?"

"Human," he shrugged "they asked me who my parents were. I didn't have an answer. I disintegrated them."

" YOU WHAT?!" Chase laughed and smiled at me.

" So that's how it feels to laugh. I'm pulling your buttons, Adalanche. I just hypnotized them" I held my heart and sighed. I really thought he had burned my principal to a crisp, that wouldn't be so bad. She sucks.

"You should still burn her, also how do you know my last name?"

"I can see through the stone in the necklace, you can't begin imagine the sights i've seen." Chase smirked. I turned my head to the side in confusion. My eyes widened and I punched him in the arm.

"PERVERT!" He chuckled and patted my head.

Were sitting on the couch in the apartment. My face was red hot, finding out he's seen me change and whatnot.

"I looked away., every time." Chase finally said noticing the silence.

"I find that somewhat hard to believe, but I only have your words to trust. By the way, I could've sworn I fell asleep on the couch... how did I get to the bed? How come you were RIGHT THERE when I woke up?" I ask, not really wanting to know the answer.

"Master, looked uncomfortable, I carried you to bed. I was going to sleep on the couch but you grabbed my arm in your sleep. So I sat at the edge of the bed all night." Oh god, I thought to myself.

"I'm sorry, that I made you stay there all night. Erm.... also remember what I told you about calling me Master. If you are going to be going to the high school with me then you are gonna have to start calling me Sierra, and try not to call anyone human."

"Yes, Sierra. Don't worry about me. I don't feel human emo-" Chase let out a huge yawn and his eyes fluttered. "-tions. Like being tir-" His eyes shut and he fell on my lap. I smile, he reminds me so much like a child. I brushed his hair with my fingers as he breaths silently and slowly. I later fell asleep with his head still in my lap.

I woke up to someone poking my head, my eyes shot open and I looked around me. Lucky was standing over me smirking.

"Having fun?", she asked. I looked down and saw the sight, Chase was snuggled against me, his arms wrapped around my waist. I blushed vibrantly, and pushed Chase off and jumped up. He fell to the floor and hit his head.

"Sierrrraaaa?!! What's this immense feeling in my head! I-i don't like it!!!"

"It's called PAIN. US HUMANS FEEL IT FROM TIME TO TIME." Lucky stared at me and back at Chase.

"You guys are freaking weird." I looked at Chase and knelt beside him.

"Lucky is my best friend, so I'm going to tell her about you and she can help with human lessons."

"Fine, but if she knows she won't be safe."

"But I can't help you by myself." I look at you and her worriedly

"I can protect her if something happens, but you are my top priority. If it's between the two of you, I'll always choose you."

"I don't think I wanna risk her safety, if you did have to choose I would want you to go to her." I sigh.

"Okay well now you have to tell me," Lucky says snapping me back to reality.

"Cracker Jacks," I cursed under my breath. I lick my lips and play with my chocolate curls while I think up a quick lie.

"Were dating." Said Chase getting up rubbing his head where it hit the coffee table,

"Babe, don't try to lie to me. What's up?" said Lucky crossing her arms

"He isn't lying." I say to Lucky, my face flushed. Chase snakes his arm around my waist and smiles brightly at Lucky. Lucky grabbed his shirt collar and pulled it to her face,

"I swear to god you lay a finger on her without her consent and I will hunt you down. Got that?" I chuckled awkwardly, and tried to pry her off him.

"Don't worry, I would never disrespect Sierra." He gave a lopsided smile that made my pulse jump.

"WELL LOOKS LIKE I'M GONNA GET READY! DON'T KILL HIM!" I run into my room.

I slide on a dress, all my jeans dirty, I pull on my backpack forgetting to get a rubber band for my hair.

"COME ON WE'RE LATE!" I grab a spoonful of peanut butter and run out the door.

Lucky sat beside me in class, Mr.Kaufer took out his glasses and looked at the schedule before handing it to Chase.

"This is Chase Ecovitz, he will be joining our class. Please welcome him."

The class erupted into chatter, girls were either glaringly at me or staring at him. The guys were comparing their muscles and bodies to his. Chase sat beside me and hung his backpack on the back of the chair, carelessly. The rest of class, I stared at board trying to concentrate. That was just about impossible since I couldn't due to the angry glares from the girls around me. I swear, if looks could kill I would be dead.

I.Can't. Take. Another. Minute. He's in all of my classes, and he sits next to me in all of them, and people won't stop staring me. At lunch I ditched for the first time in my life and ran home. I had a mini panic attack from all the negative attention, then I played video games the whole time. Chase walked into the door, and he sat next to me on the floor, I kept my eyes glued to the tv. He got up about an hour later coming back with a jar of peanut butter and a spoon. He handed both to me without a word and sat down next to me. I ate out of the jar, then laid on the floor, he looked down at me, still not spouting a word.

"I didn't like the attention, i'm sorry."

"Master...I mean Sierra."

"Yes?"

"HOW DARE YOU DISAPPEAR!!! I LOOKED FOR YOU EVERYWHERE! I ALREADY HAVE TO BE A HUMAN AND DEAL WITH THESE EMOTIONS I'VE NEVER HAD BEFORE AND THERE YOU GO MAKING MY JOB HARDER."

"I-I'm so-sorry", I said feeling tears run

down my cheeks and burn my throat, Chase grabbed me and pulled me into a hug. His arms tightened around me, protecting me, making me feel safe.

"Don't do that. It...scared me...I thought I had already failed. Don't be sad, I need to be more aware. I'm sorry, Sierra." I said nothing and just nuzzled into his hug. Maybe demons could feel? A loud noise came from Chase and he pushed me away. He held his stomach and blushed confused.

" I think I'm. Hungry." I laughed and stood up.

"Come on, let's go get pizza. I think we both need it."

I sit in the booth across from him,

watching him eat four, five, six pizza slices. I giggle and rest my chin in my hand, he offered me a slice but i declined politely. I told him that I was going to the restroom then i'd be right back. I entered the bathroom and looked in the mirror. Suddenly something jumped out at me, sending me flying and crashing into the mirror. The last thing I saw before blacking out was shards of glass flying and a man that looked similar to Maldonious. Then the darkness enveloped me.

My eyes shot open. My body ached and cuts covered my arms where the glass shards had sliced. I was sat in a golden chair in a pure white room. In another pure gold chair, there was Maldonious. His golden armor shimmered and his hair was perfectly done. His white wings folded softly around his back. My thoughts screamed Chase but I held myself back from saying them aloud.
