Maldonious' gold eyes made me shiver, he stared and made me uncomfortable.
"What do you want?" I tried to sound brave but I can hear the fear in my own shaky voice. He continued to stare, which I had to say was impolite.
"Where is the necklace?" His ice cold stare dug into my eyes looking for the truth. I look down into my lap a chill running up my spin by how harsh his tone was. I look back up returning the glare.
"I will never tell you. Torture me, hurt me, I don't care. You'll never get it from me." I lifted my chin high, believing my words. Maldonious shot up from the gold throne-like chair and put his face close to mine, barring his teeth.
"Tell me where the damned necklace is, or you will be sent to the gates of Hell!" He yelled. I lean my face close to his,
"Never." I said coldly, feeling his hot angry breath stirring my hair.
Maldonious ran his hand through his hair and sighed. He knocked over his chair and screamed.
"You see!? This is why I hate selfish little brats like you, he's a demon! He's done things no man is capable of." I didn't say a word and just scowled. Maldonious put his chair back and sat in it. He stared at me and then sighed again. His expression became more sad as he looked at me.
"This man, he is a demon. I know you don't believe me, I shouldn't get angry. I am an angel, a protector of the Lord and pure bird for all. This demon makes me lose my patience. I want to tell you what he's done if you'll just listen. Can you do that?" My fear dissolved, and I nod.
"Sure, go ahead."
"Us angels. We've given...your demon many chances to stop. To become a good person but he refuses. He's murdered, killed, hurt and taken from so many. So we secured him in the necklace. But he always breaks free. Has he broken free yet?"
"He didn't break free, I begged him to come out the necklace. He isn't how you think. He's protecting me, he is... he's so kind to me." Maldonious tapped his chin and looked at the ground. He looked back up at me with a pitiful look.
"He's going to steal your soul."
"He's not, I promise you he's not. Please give him one more chance. Let me show you that he's changed."
"He can never change, but I'll humor you. I will give you five months. If you can show me that he is pure, I won't banish him to hell. If you don't, then you give him to me. Willingly. If you don't agree I will go after you both everyday for the rest of your life until I get him." I look at Maldonious with serious eyes, and hold out my hand.
"I swear on my grave."
"Good. We have a deal. In the meantime, I will be watching. Everywhere you go I'll be watching from heaven." I blush, and scrunch my nose
"Even when I go to the bathroom?" Maldonious lifted an eyebrow and smirked.
"Not like that. In order for you to show me he's good, he'll need to do good deeds. I'll throw missions and tasks at you. Then I'll watch you complete them. To summarize, I'll only be watching you from the second you leave your home to the second you enter it."
"Got it!" I smile happily at the chance to prove the angel wrong.
"We can't trust him. Be careful, Sierra."
"You worry too much. Me and him already have rules."
"Rules don't apply to a demon of hell, but good luck. Keep the bracelet on at all times so I can keep track of you."
"Huh?" Suddenly a blinding light hit me in the face. I fell back and shut my eyes. When I opened them, I was filled with the horrible smell of a pizzeria bathroom and a bracelet around my wrist.
I look around to see the mirror still intact, and I rush out of the bathroom and back to the booth where Chase was finishing the last slice of pizza, a string of cheese hanging mouth. I smiled and asked if he was ready to go, my face pale from the surrealness. Chase suddenly reached over the booth table and rested his palm on my forehead.
"You are not running a fever, but you are pale. Are you alright Sierra?" My face went bright red and nodded.
"Yeah, i'm fine." I look up hoping Maldonious saw the kind gesture.
"Let's go home." He put his arm around my shoulder and lead me out the door after we paid for the pizza.
The entire time walking home I thought about what to do. Lucky could help me if I asked and explained the situation, it should be safe now right? I mean, the angels know about this all now. Chase isn't bad, I know it, he hasn't hurt me at all. As we were walking, I felt someone bump into my shoulder. They gave me a disgusted look and kept walking, I turned to Chase who angrily stared at the man. I held his hand and smiled when he looked at me, clearly embarrassed to be holding my hand. Chase looked at the man once more, and I pulled him away. As soon as we walked far away enough, I released his hand.
This couldn't be so hard. Chase had never been bad
to me. I mean, I have known him for around three days but still. Chase stuffed his hands in his pockets and looked away. I slightly hoped he didn't suspect anything while I was in the bathroom. We walked home in silence.
I swung open the door and crawled into my bed.
Chase closed the door after me and shut off the lights. I heard his footsteps and him fall on the couch. My phone buzzed beside my bed and I opened it. A text from Lucky.
Lucky_Baby: You awake?
Sierra_Magic_Siren: Yup
Lucky_Baby: Wanna hang out tomorrow? Without your brand new "boyfriend"
Sierra_Magic_Siren: I got to get him new clothes
Lucky_Baby: Ugh. Wait why?
Sierra_Magic_Siren: um...his clothes burned in the massive fire of the 2015's water bending Olympics.
Lucky_Baby: I think you get weirder everyday. Alright fine your German friend can tag along.
Sierra_Magic_Siren: German?
Lucky_Baby: All of you crushes or guy friends are getting cool accents to bump up your street cred
Sierra_Magic_Siren: what why? Like who.
Lucky_Baby: the polynesian cashier at Walmart
Sierra_Magic_Siren: He was british...and you hated him
Lucky_Baby: he called me a kid. And tried to charge me extra for that Pepsi. So he gets a Polynesian accent.
Sierra_Magic_Siren: why Polynesia?
Lucky_Baby: because I'll never visit Polynesia.
Sierra_Magic_Sierra: ...Goodnight Lucky.
Lucky_Baby: Burn in Tauterus, Naruhoe.
I turned off my phone and set it on the nightstand. My head rested on the fluffy pillow. My eyes closed and I slowly drifted to sleep. My alarm blazed and I jumped slightly. I got on jeans and a white shirt with a blue cardigan. I rushed out the bedroom and walked to Chase. He was snoring on the couch and I flicked him in the head. His eyes shot open and he threw me over him. He pinned my arms to the couch and used his legs to secure my own.
"Chase?!" His eyes widened and he let go of me,
standing away from where I was.
"I'm sorry, Master! I mean Sierra! It was an accident!
Forgive me... it was a reflex."
"Chase. It's fine. Come on we are going to get you
some clothes. You only have one pair anyway. "
"Master, how will you pay for this?"
"It's Sierra. Don't worry, I get spending money from my parents every month."
