James Hetfield, My New Neighbor

Chapter 15:

I woke up in the morning. I got dress for work and then the sound of my phone went off from a text. On my lock screen I see James sent me a text saying "Good morning sweetie."
I got so happy and hearing from him. I never felt so happy to be receiving a text. I responded back to him.

Me: Good morning, James. I hope you have a good day at work.

James: Same to you. Haha. I wish to see your cutie face.

I took a quick picture of myself and send it to him.

I went to wake my grandma up. As soon as she woke up, she start to say she was in pain. Her right arm was getting swollen. Like it was broken. "Ok grandma, we need to go to the hospital." I said trying to not panic. I didn't want her to freak out. Stacy arrived and I have already called for a ambulance. Stacy came in the house and I told her "Stacy, My grandma's arm broke. I called for the ambulance." "Oh my God. Let get her downstairs to the living room." She said

We got my grandma out of bed and took her down the stairs and then into the living room to sit her down. I called Jeffrey to tell him I couldn't make it to work today.

Me: Jeffrey I need to take the day off. My grandma broke her arm and I need to be with her when the ambulance arrives.

Jeffery: Yes, take the time you need. Everything here will be fine, don't worry.

I got off the phone and heard the sirens of the ambulance coming to the front of the house. 3 EMT guys came in to put my grandma on a gurney. They put my grandma in the ambulance heading to the hospital. Stacy and I went to follow in Stacy's car.

We arrived at the hospital. They put my grandma in a room and I stayed with her. I had a set next to her. Inside I was crying but I didn't want my grandma to see that I wanted to. I keep holding my breath in and out for 5 seconds at a time. The doctor wrapped a cast on her arm. My grandma got too tired so she fell asleep.

I have already been in the hospital with my grandma for 5 hours she was still sleeping. Stacy had to talk with the other doctors in another room. I thought about James, and needed to text him about what happen.

Me: James I'm not at work today. I had to call a ambulance for my grandma. Her arm broke. We're at the city hospital.

James ends up texting back 30 minutes later.

James: Oh no! Is she ok? What room are you in?

Me: she is ok. She is resting. We're in room 216. Why?

James: I'm coming to see you and your grandma.

Me: You don't have to do that.

James: I know. But I want to.

Me: Ok just let the front desk know that you are a friend.

It was almost 2 hours and James showed up to the room. The moment he opened the door he had a bouquet of Flowers for my grandma. I stood up from the chair and fast walking into his arms and my eyes started to tear up. I cried over his clean white med sleeve button up shirts. He hold me as soon as I got into his arms. His arm was over my waist and the other around my head while holding the bouquet of light purple flowers. He whispered "I'm sorry."

After 10 seconds we broke apart. James put the flowers on a table by my grandma. He pulled up a chair to sit next to me. I stopped myself from cry and James wiped the rest of my tears off.

"You're grandma will be find, princess. Don't worry." He said. I nodded believing him. He comfort me by rubbing my back. I just stayed silent the whole time till Stacy walked in with a doctor. "Oh hi james." Said Stacy. We both stood up. James gave Stacy a hand shake. The doctor wanted to talk to me outside the room in the hall.

"How is she?" I asked. "Well Rheumatoid Arthritis is getting worst....and this increased her to having a heart disease.....we can make her comfortable here to watch her what she eats and help with her sleep...i do suggest having her here at the hospital. She needs extra care." The doctor said. I nodded and agreed with the doctor. "How long will she be here?" I asked. "It could be months. Heart Disease patents have a high risk for a heart attack, cardiac arrest, and stroke....and results to death i'm afraid." The doctor explained.

I made a agreement with the doctor to keep my grandma here. I was teared up inside and scared of facing death again. I went back inside the room and my grandma was already awake, it sounded like she has been up while I was talking to the doctor. James, Stacy and my grandma were smiling at each other. I came in with no smile on my face.
"Hi sweetie." Said my grandma after she notice me coming back in. " Hi grandma. How are you feeling?" I asked while reaching to hold my grandma's hand. "Oh I'm doing ok. Just a little hurt." She said. I know it wasn't just a little pain. I tell my grandma about the doctor. "I've talked to the doctor and he said you'll be fine. You just need to be here for a few months." I tell her. "Oh, I don't mind. Hopefully I'll be ok real soon and come back home." She said while touching my left side of my face.

We all stayed the whole time till visiting hours were over. Which was around 6pm. I said Goodbye to my grandma and told her I'll come back tomorrow. The three of us went outside. I talked to Stacy about how she was doing. "How are you doing Stacy?" I asked, "I'm fine. Beside what's going on. Jeffrey have already file for divorce and we're planning on moving in together after that." She explained. "That's good, for you two." I said. "Do you need a ride?", she asked. "I can take her." James answered. "Yeah it will be late when you head back home Stacy. I'll see you tomorrow." I told Stacy. "Ok drive safe guys. Bye." She said. We said our goodbyes.

I was in the car with James and we drove home. I couldn't sat anything and James didn't say anything either. He knows I'm going through a lot, maybe he didn't know what to say. We arrived outside both our houses. He parked in his driveway. I thank him for the ride and we both got out the car.  He walked me to the front of the door.

"I hope your grandma feels soon. I'm pretty sure she'll be coming." He said. "I hope the same thing." I said. "I can take tomorrow back. If you like." He said. "I would like that please." I said. "Well I'll just get going now. I'll be ready by 7 and wait for you.....um....bye" he said. Just when he turned away I responded "wait, james?" He stopped and turn to look back me and I said to him, "...I don't want to be alone...."
