"come on, Ari, we're going to be late if we don't leave soon.", my dad shouted as he put the last of the suitcases in the car.
i am spending this summer with my dad in oregon, i needed to get away from my old town, from my mother.
my dad and i have never had the greatest relationship, he's always busy with his job. he also wanted a son, but instead, he got me, Ariadne Mitchell.
"now Ari," my dad started, he continued on but all i could think about was how i would spend my summer.
"Ariadne are you listening to me?"
i nodded my head as he continued. "there will be a few boys there your age, so you will be accompanied by them when we are not filming. i am trusting you with your own hotel room, do not make me regret it, and please stay out of the way."
i nodded my head as we pulled into a hotel parking lot. i got out and grabbed my bag with my records and books, and my other two large bags with my clothing.
i went up to the counter and grabbed my key, i saw a few boys playing tag while running around.
"shoot!" i whispered as i dropped my key. i felt something hard hit my head as i was pushed to the ground.
"watch where you're fucking going!" said an unfamiliar voice.
"don't be rude, corey." said another.
i saw a hand reach out to grab mine and i look up to see a slender tall boy with dark hair. i took it and stood up.
"i'm Wil, this here is Corey, and uh that right there is Jerry. i am not sure where River is. are you Ar-uh Mr.Mitchells daughter?" he said as he stuttered over my name.
"Ariadne, yes. you can call me Ari if you'd prefer. it was nice to meet you, but i should get going." i grabbed my things and walked a few more steps to my room, with my head down.
i got inside and set my things down. as i was putting my clothes into the dresser, i heard a knock.
"um, come in?" i yelled.
"hey, here's a new record player, the one that was in here was having some malfunctions, sorry. this one should be better." said a boy with short blonde hair.
"oh, well, thank you. i appreciate it." i replied.
"i'm River, and you?" he said holding out his hand
i shook it and replied, "i'm Ariadne."
"wow, that's a name. it's very unique, i like it!" he said with enthusiasm, i smiled.
"well, Ariadne, i'll see you at dinner." he said as he walked out.
i've always thought my name was ugly, but when he says it, there's a ring to it, it almost sounds beautiful.
