I'm not very good at updating regularly. I just write whenever I get inspiration, so sorry to those following this story. Once again, thank you so so much for reading and voting. Also, I know I make a lot of mistakes in terms of names and certain facts, so if there are any that have slipped past me, please let me know! Merci buckets and Happy Reading :)
Drew and I are following Declan down a long corridor on the second floor. He stops in front of a door.
"Before we start, you know you're not allowed to tell anyone this right?" he says.
"Yeah," Drew and I say in unison.
"Good," he smirks. "Come in then,"
We go in the room, and I don't see anything significant. A desk is shoved in the corner, there is a queen size bed, and a couch.
"Um, Declan, should I be seeing something?" I ask skeptically.
"Not yet," he laughs. He reaches his hand under the bed, and it goes up, like a Murphy bed. But when I look down, I don't see the floor. I see ladders leading down into a well-lit room buzzing with people. "If you're not seeing anything now, you're going insane"
"Wow. That's amazing. What's down there?" Drew asks, awe sketched all over his face.
"Showing is better than telling," Declan replied with a wink. He starts climbing the ladder down. Drew and I follow and we find ourselves in a huge room with computers, gadgets, and people walking and talking to each other or on their phones.
"Welcome to our center for technology. We develop new and more effective weapons and tracking devices here, as well as keep tabs on people out on missions. It's split into two parts. On the left, you have all the scientists and engineers hired to improve our systems. On the right is where all the missions are monitored. That's where we'll be going today," Declan says, sounding very much like a tour guide.
We walk over to the left side of the room and I see many hallways branching off in different directions. The one thing that stands out is the wall-to-wall monitor, showing hundreds of moving dots on at least a hundred different maps.
"Are these all of your agents that are out on missions?" I ask.
"No. These are all the people I'm responsible for. This is only the western part of Seven hands," he replies.
"So how many branches are there?" Drew asks.
"Seven, I'm assuming. Three or four in the US, one in Europe, one in Asia, probably India or Indonesia, and one in the Middle East, I'd guess," I scoff.
"How the hell did you know yhat?" Declan asks incredulously.
"It's common logic. You can't have seven branches in the US if the size of your branch is the entire western coast. Unless the size of your branch is significantly bigger than the others, which is illogical. And you have very good technology and obviously a lot of funding. I was told, I don't remember who told me, that you are funded by a company. Only an international company would have the money to be able to finance an operation like this," I explain.
