"I'm sorry, but he... he left, he needed time to think at least that's what he said." Kirstie came back into the living room to see Scott, Mitch and Avi sitting on the larger end of the sofa, cuddled up flush against one another.
Only ten minutes before, the five of them had been rehearsing for their new project, an EP featuring covers of classic songs until Avi had a moment and confessed his love for his boyfriends right in front of Kirstie, who knew about them and Kevin, who didn't know. He wasn't too excited about the revelation and had left right away. Kirstie had followed him to not only try to talk to him but also to give the triad some space to talk.
"Mmmhm..." Mitch hummed, looking up from where he was leaning against Avi's broad chest.
"As much as I want to be disappointed at him, I can't be" Avi spoke up next. "I mean when we realised what we are, we all needed an afternoon to think and then I had second thoughts."
"Yeah and I guess that with Kevin's help we realised that we don't have a usual relationship and we need to be ready for people asking questions or not being able to accept us like you did, Kirstie" Scott spoke up.
"I have to say that I was taken aback, but that was only my second thought" Kirstie confessed. "My first thought was that I want you happy and in love. But in the end it is all about you being consenting adults and well... seeing you this happy contrasting to how heartbroken all of you were during your small break makes me realise once more, that there are no clear cut borders when it comes to love. There's nothing wrong with you being three men, happily in love and I support you to the fullest."
"See? This is not only all we want but also all we can wish for, Kirstie." Scott smiled brightly at the bubbly blonde woman. "Acceptance and support. Thank you, Sweetheart."
"You're welcome, all of you" Kirstie replied sincerely.
"What do we do now, though?" Mitch asked.
"Well, we all know Kevin, he will take a day or two to himself and then he'll be ready to talk to us, listen to our explanation and then we'll solve it" Avi replied.
"I know, Honey and this is not what I meant" Mitch explained with a smile on his face. "I was thinking about right now. We need to do at least something productive, after all we had to reschedule last week's session. But without Kevin..."
"We can at least work on a few harmonies. Bugle Boy for example. With your walking base, Avi, it will work out just fine, what do you think?" Kirstie offered. "And it will be easy to add Kevin later on when the harmonies are crisp and perfect."
"Sure thing, I love this song" Avi pointed out. "Let's do this."

Several hours later the four of them had run through most of their new songs and, in addition, had started to arrange Take on Me. But since they were all getting tired and would need Kevin to try out more things, they decided to call it a day.
"Wanna stay for dinner? We still owe you one, Kirstie" Scott offered as they gathered their notes and the blonde woman got ready to leave.
"First of all you don't owe me a thing, second, I would love to, but I'm going out with the fiancé. But I wouldn't decline an invite for another time, now that Avi is living with you..."
"Are you saying that Scott and I cannot cook?" Mitch asked, feigning shock. "I begin to really love cooking."
"Me too" Scott added. "But this is mainly because we have a really good teacher."
"Could you please stop, all of you" Avi said with a huge grin on his face, seemingly loving the attention. "But on another note, there will definitely be another invitation, we'll find a date. You should bring Jeremy, I know how much he likes a good BBQ."
