Chapter 20 (YAY) – I Want It All.

“Jace hurry up! They are going to be here any minute to pick us up.” I yelled from the bottom of the stairs. We were leaving for Grandmother’s house for Christmas Break.

“I’m coming Adds hold on. The world isn’t going to end if we are five minutes late.” She said running down the stairs with her suit case in hand.

“Yes but the sooner we get there the better. And plus that I don’t want the boys hanging around with Phil here. God only knows what he will ask them.” I whispered to her. She grunted her agreement. “Oh good they’re here.”

 I opened the door where Kat, Jay and Nathan stood. Jay grabbed our bags and headed back out to the van. “Mum we’re leaving.” I shouted up the stairs.

“Wait hold on let me say goodbye.” She ran down the stairs and gave me a hug. “Nice to see you Nathan, Kat.” She nodded to them.

“You too Helen.” Nathan said politely.

“Hi Addi’s mum.” Kat smiled brightly. “You must be Phil.” She turned to Phil who was coming down the stairs.

“Yes and you must be Kat.” He laughed. Kat extended her hand to shake.

“Yeah Adds said a lot about you, that’s a lie.”

“And you must be Nathan, nice to meet you lad. I heard a lot about you and that is not a lie.” Phil shook his hand to.

“You know all British don’t actually say ‘lad’ all the time.” Kat said.

“You do.” Nathan replied to her.

“Yeah but that’s me.”

There was a few minutes of silence then, “Awkward moment when boyfriend meets mother’s boyfriend with friend there.” Jace said.

“I’m the friend.”

“Yes you are Kat. Anyways we should be going if we want to get there before noon.” I walked to the door and opened it for everyone to leave.

“Bye girls,” Phil called. Jace said good bye but I kept walking.

“Little bitter towards Phil?” Jay asked sliding into the van beside Jace.

“Yes,” I nodded sitting beside him and Nathan.

“There is no more room, Kat. Not with the bags and stuff.” Siva said to her when she hung back at the door.

“That’s fine I’ll just sit with Tom.” She grinned sitting down on Tom’s lap.

“He’s in heaven.” Nathan whispers to my.

“So true, so true.” Jay nodded.

Half an hour of driving I began to feel tired so I leaned my head on Nathan’s shoulder. I closed my eyes and let sleep take over. After what felt like two minutes I sensed someone poking me hard in the arm. “What?” I muttered sleepily.

“Adds Max is asleep.” Kat said proudly.

“Okay,” I murmured falling back asleep.

“Adds,” poke, “Adds,” poke, “Adds wake up.”

“What, Kat?”

“Siva’s asleep.”

“That’s cool.” I closed my eyes again.

“Adds. Adds. Addison.”

“I swear to God Kat of you woke me up to tell me another person’s asleep I will throw you out the window.”
