Chapter four
I gritted my teeth slightly, listening to the sound of the breeze outside the palace. So, there was something here that he thought would be a problem. I frowned slightly. Turning away from the book placing it down on the table. I walked up the steps listening to the click of my heels on the wood. Feanero was speaking with a young maiden who had taken a liking to him. She was pretty, with straight white hair and large green eyes. The elf smiled at him, they chatted merrily as I approached, the woman was dressed in a green dress holding a plate with her front hands, she must have been one of the immigrants from Rivendell. She gasped as she spotted me “My lady.” The elf said, her voice was soft but had a pretty ring to it. I smiled “Rise.” She did quickly “What is your name young one?” I asked her.
“Aranthi” She said, I nodded “what a lovely name.” I looked to Feanero awaiting him to tell me what this maid was doing speaking to him like they where friends, she must have been trusted by Thranduil because few new of my self and my sons existence.
Feanero smiled “Shes a friend of mine.” I nodded “Have fun then.” I left them and went up the staires towards my room, I walked down the hallway to the end of it, there was a window at the end. I opened it and the breeze ripped across my face, leafs where thrown into the blue sky. I watched the trees dance in the wind like the elves of Lothorin and their parties.
I sighed staring into the distant rolling hills, I yearned to run with the forest and the deer like I had when I was a young child. You can’t keep a free spirit locked up like this I eyed a nearby tree that was just jumping distance from the window. I sighed, as much as my heart wanted to my mind told me no.
I really did love Thranduil and I was happy that he was willing to protect me like this, but there had to be another way besides keeping me prisoner like this sure I was free to roam the palace but that got old fast.
Suddenly a beautiful low melody caught my attention; I turned listening to the song. I followed the flowing music down the hallway and to a vacant room in the east wing of the palace. I paused, placing my ear on the wooden surface of the door listening to the melody a woman’s voice flowed though the material.
*Hear me out I wont sleep tonight You wont leave this house See you shaking but you wont let it out We can make this right I wont leave this house I will fix this somehow*
I pushed the door open, expecting to see a young woman singing there. But I saw nothing, I frowned the music continued from this room because it was so loud. I went to the window, opening it and looking outside, still nothing. I narrowed my eyes, turning around to look for the source of the melody.
Still nothing.
Though the open window wind blew in and started a little spiral in the center of the room around me, the wind had collected leafs as it blew about me in a circle. I gasped slightly, moving to shut the window as the tune continued.
I finally slammed the window closed, the wind stopped and the leafs went still. I frowned turning back to the pile of leafs on the floor of the bedroom, I stepped lightly over them, shutting the door the melody has stopped.
It was like the forest was calling me. It wanted me, and I wanted it.
