Hopeless (Collection of Poems)

Choose a drink

One of my poems not about love. But hopeless indeed when finding peace.

I personally love the warmth of tea or coffee. Who doesn't, right? But they both give different effects on us. While coffee energizes us, tea induces us sleep. Yet both of them makes us feel relaxed.. that even if we are far away from home, a sip can make us feel a hundred miles closer to where home is.

And the warmth we long for, will be given to us by these drinks that will always be there when we feel cold.

A sip from a cup of tea,
Or maybe coffee I believe,
Warms my mouth and soul,
And filters me, no need for a sieve,
It tickles my throat,
Home to the speaker of my thoughts,
And it burns my stomach,
Where butterflies inside me fought,
It kept my eyes open,
Until dawn I'm drunk with caffeine,
Or maybe it calms me to sleep,
As if tea leaves were in my vein,
Though it all makes sense,
Both kept me calm,
For my heart was ice cold,
And all I wish was to keep warm.
