Chapter 4

The meeting room?

I quietly slipped into the meeting room, and hoped that no one had noticed that my shirt was on backwards. I set my bags down on a folding chair, andlooked around the room to see if my friends were here. Rose was here no doubt; she had to unlock the door in the first place. Steve was in the corner, discussing blueprints with Isabelle. I took another good look. Where was Vent? I poked my head out of the doorframe, and was not surprised to find him running late.

Not but five seconds later, Vent bursts into the room nearly slicing my skull with his sword in the process. I crossed my arms as he turned around to face me. His face was red and his shaggy brown hair was drenched with sweat; he looked like he had seen a ghost.

He pointed with a shaking fist toward the back wall. I looked to where he was pointing. It was a normal wall. "Vent, there is nothi-"

BA-BOOOOOM!!!! The explosion rocked the floor, and sent everyone in the room flying. We steadily got up and drew our weapons. I made a hand motion and we ran out of the room. My eyes scanned the corridor ahead. Nothing. We ran down another hallway, keeping our eyes peeled for any strange activity. I held out my hand to the group, and we all stopped.

I pointed to a large hole on the edge of the castle, and we drew our bows. As we stalked stalked closer, I realized that the hole was much bigger than I had assumed. It was twice as big as the EnderDragon! And it was on fire. I notched an arrow and aimed it at the water bottle dispenser that was wonderfully placed only a few blocks away. I fired the shot, and the water sprayed everywhere, putting the fire out. I smiled. I had used my brain for once!

Now was not the time to celebrate though. From the monstrous hole, I could see Overworld mobs. Hundreds of them. No, thousands. All parading toward the castle like a bunch of angry Endermen.

I was scared. This was not the first time that I had seen this happen before. The memories began to flood through my mind. When I was a young girl, wanting to go to the Overworld and had almost been killed by one of the mobs. Meeting Steve and Vent, and the journey they we went on. My parent's death that broke my heart. But just as I began to stare down at the burning castle before me, a thought occurred to me. Where was Ender?
