Chapter 7
The dream
Cold hands shake me awake, out of the dream I never wish I had. I climb out of bed in a cold sweat, not sure what to do next. I glanced upward, and found Vent was sitting on my bed next to me, eyes open and alert. I was still shaking from the dream that was just beginning to clear out of my mind.
I looked into Vent's big eyes that were ceased with worry. "Misty, was it the dream?" He asked. I nodded my head and bit my bottom lip. It was the third time that it had stuck up on me tonight, in which Vent had been there every time. Just at that moment, Steve had walked into the the tiny wood cabin. "Oh.....Steve." I say with a whisper. He looks at me with a sad and confused expression. "I had it again" I say to Steve. "Had what?" he asked, looking even more confused. Vent and I trade nerves glances.
We forgot to tell Steve.
"Is there something that you wanted to tell me?" he said concertedly.
"Yeah, so I've been having this dream that.........that......." I began to choke on my own words. I just couldn't get them out of my mouth, even though they were furiously running through my head. I gathered up my words, and gave it my best shot.
•I was chained to a wall, and my hands were tied to a fetter, while hanging above a pit of lava. I couldn't move. I couldn't breathe. The think, humid air of a wet cell stung my nose. My wrist were blistering from the chains, and my head begun to bleed. The sticky red liquid began to flow from my exposed cuts, and poured down my face like a waterfall. I began to choke and gag, until I thought that I couldn't tolerate the pain anymore. I felt the mocking voices inside my head, telling me the most unwanted comments, but the truth. "Your the only one left." "You cant save anyone!" "You let her die....."
Then the setting shifted and I was healed, and blinded by an overpowering light. As my eyes adjusted, I couldn't help but notice the fluffy clouds that I was standing on, and the clear blue sky. The warm breeze whipped my shirt against my body in a gentle manner as the rays of the sun were repelled into my skin. A man in a navy shirt and a thick brown beard approached me. He spoke in such as whisper, I strained to hear him.
"You must travel to the........and use the........to rescue........who could help ...........Ender is........." •
"This is when Vent shook me awake" I continue explaining to Steve. He nods while also staring into space. "Misty....." Vent began, "What was the last thing the man said to you?" I though back for a few seconds. "He said Ender is..." I glanced up and noticed that Steve and Vent were exchanging glances; and I became worried. Were they hiding something secret from me? What though?
