Planning the Event

MsMisty knocked on the door once again. Dariki's mom had invited Ender over for a sleepover, so that Misty could get some work done for the Opening of the Portal ceremony. As Queen, it was Misty's job to lead the ceremony. Thankfully, Rose and Steve had volunteered to help out!

The ceremony was simple. Basically, pieces of the End Portal were carried out, one at a time. They were then arranged in the most delicate order to create a squared shape. The Eyes of the End would be handed out to the nobility, who would place the eyes into the slots in the portal, to activate it. Then, they would have a dance, and a huge feast! Misty loved looking into the portal every year. The view was pure emptiness and magic.

Misty loved everything about the Overworld. The animals, the mobs, the biomes, the cycle of days and nights, the texture of all the different blocks. It was so complex compared to the End. Her mother would refuse to let her through the portal every year. But Misty had disobeyed at one point anyway. She would have never have met Steve or Vent!

She knocked on the door once more. The birch door nearly flew off it's hinges as it revealed the bright and smiling face of Dariki. Dariki's black hair tumbled loosely around her shoulders. She was such a cute Endergirl! There were very few who Enderwomen had the rare and gorgeous green eyes. But of course, Dariki did.

Her mother came out into the dorm hallway, and began to lead the girls inside. She looked back at Misty and asked "What time are you coming back to get Ender?" I thought for a moment. "Would three be ok?" She nodded. "Works for me." She smiled and shut the door behind her.

I headed back to my dorm, ready to begin! For once, they were on time. Rose was carrying a jumble of colorful papers, while Steve had was fiddling around with the door handle. I mentally face palmed. How could I forget to give them the key?

I took the silver key out of my back pocket and threw it to Steve. Once the door was open, Rose and Steve ran in. I started to pick up all the papers that Rose had dropped. "Sorry!" she said. "No problem!" After a mess of papers coming through the Queen's door, they were done messing around. They had work to do!
