Chapter 16

Love is an open door.

Misty chuckled as she slapped Steve on the side of his head. "Ow, what was that for?", he whinnied. "For staring at Vent's cousin", she snorted. "Is that particularly a bad thing?", he questioned jokingly. Misty just shrugged with slight disgust. Boys. Ever since they had taken Streak in, Steve and Vent had become little love bugs. Vent had started dating Cake, and Steve was crazy about Streak. Misty rolled her eyes. Love is an open door! She laughed and spread her wings, flying to the top of the castle and looking down. While her and the army and the army had been away, the End had been restored by a mysterious force. It was puzzling, but also calming. At least there would be less labor put into its making.

She sighed sadly. It had been hard living without Ender. But some things just happen. The past was in the past and could not be changed no matter how hard she tried. The funeral had been three weeks ago and Misty had never cried more. She had picked out her final resting spot; next to her parents is where she would be placed. She had said her final blessings, set a stack of roses down, and cried. If she had stayed there any longer, the small garden would have flooded. She have learned to control it though. First, it had been her parents. Next, Ender. Who was after?

She heaved a sigh once again, and flew off the roof to go join her friends.

After grabbing some breakfast, she headed over to the stables to give Shadow a ride. Her black boots clomped on the obsidian planks, as she made her way over to shadow. There were many different dragons in the stable. Many of them were in witch were owned by either her, her friends, or the army generals. Misty heard a muffled roar, and turned to her right. Shadow! "Wow! You've gotten so big!", she exclaimed. Shadow jumped up and down, and looked like he was smiling the best a dragon could. Misty opened his gate, saddled him up, and they flew out of the stables.

They landed at the foot of the castle, greeted by a happy crowd of children and parents. Misty waved to the crowd and dismounted Shadow who obediently flew back to the stables. "Let's get this party started!", she yelled to the crowd. Whistles and cheers erupted from the crowd. She led everyone inside and began to show them around the new castle. After giving everyone a key to their new dorm room, she walked into her room. It was the biggest out of them all. It was decorated with the style in mind of cherry blossom.

The walls were a smooth red, with metal flowers on the wall. There were two king sized bed with grey bed sheets with little black flowers on the side. A large grey circle rug covered the floor. Misty kept walking. There was an indoor pool, lit up with electric blue lights. A little waterfall was coming down from the ceiling into the hot tub below. Her smile grew wider. Her bathroom had marble floors, two glass showers, a bubble bath, and a fresh stack of white towels. Throughout the dorm, a side of the wall was glass, providing a beautiful view. At this point, Misty was literally exploding with happiness. It was so beautiful! A silver staircase led up to a second floor which featured five more rooms, three bathrooms, another pool, a kitchen, and a living room. It was beautiful and Misty couldn't thank Steve any more for the beautiful construction. "Love is an open door", she whispered and fell asleep on her new bed.
