One thing I had been dreading was here too: the meeting with the leader of FIRE.
Jiwoo had been ignoring me ever since what happened to the model guy. She did have a reason to though as we just basically stripped the guy she liked off his popularity. So I lied to my parent saying that I was hanging out with Sulgi instead. Yoongi met me a few streets away from my house with his chauffeur.
"My father will have to come too," Yoongi said after a while of driving.
"Why?"
"He is an executive of FIRE. That is the only reason why I have direct access to Leader Kim."
"Does your father trust me?" I asked.
"I had to spend a week to convince him," Yoongi answered.
"Why do you trust me so much? Aren't you afraid that I will go and tell my father everything that has been happening?"
"Please don't," was all he said.
We soon arrived in front of the Min mansion. Mr Min entered and sat in the front seat of the car.
"Oh Eunjung," he turned around and said. "We meet again."
I nodded. "We do, Mr Min."
"I don't know why my son trusts you so much, but I trust my son's judgement. I will take you to Leader Kim as prove of what my son is saying. It if I find out that you are even the slightest threat to FIRE, I will kill you without hesitation."
I pretended to be calm and nodded. He turned back around, satisfied. Oh gosh, what had I got myself into? I was supposed to be just a normal 17 years old student, what was I doing playing around with the veterans of the underworld?
-----
I was not expecting Leader Kim to be living so far out from the city. He lived in a large farmhouse in the rural Busan. We had to drive through a long path with tree canopy overhead in order to get to it.
The first thing I noticed when I got off the car was the number of dogs running around freely. They all looked a little rough, their fur unclean and some of them a little thin. But there was one that stood out. A German Shepard, the largest of the dogs there, stood proud and clean. He was the only one that had a collar on.
We were in an area in front of the farmhouse. The ground was made of cobble. There was a shed to the right where four jeeps were parked under. I could see an opening in the gate to the left which led to a swimming pool that some servants were cleaning.
The wooden door to the white farmhouse opened and out came a man in a suit. He had a head of grey hair and looked to be in his sixties.
He nodded at Mr Min. He then turned to me and Yoongi.
"Welcome. I am Ga Wookheon, Leader Kim's right-hand man and executive of FIRE. Leader Kim is waiting for you." He gestured for us to follow him inside and we did. On the way we passed by several servants who all stood to the side and bowed when they saw us. We went upstairs, and finally arriving at a spacious balcony on the second floor. It offered an amazing view of the large garden.
A man sat on a wicker chair, staring at the view. It wasn't until Mr Ga notified him that he turned his head to look at us. He was a middle-aged man with a rounded belly underneath his button shirt. He had a tanned skin colour. I noticed the bangle and rings with large precious stones on them around his wrist and fingers.
