As soon as we turned the corner and became out of sight of the people in the back area, I threw Yoongi's arm off my shoulder. "We are not actually dating yet, remember?"
Yoongi raised a brow. "We are not dating...yet?"
Whoops, didn't mean to say that.
He laughed and said nothing more. We walked side by side out of school in silence. It lasted until we had to walk different directions. I quickly continued towards my direction without even saying goodbye to Yoongi. I was slightly embarrassed, to be honest.
I was quite impressed by how quickly Yoongi managed to find the person behind the picture. I expected him to find the person maybe in a few weeks, or even never. Once again, I underestimated Min Yoongi.
As I neared my home, I noticed something strange. Both my parents were standing outside of the estate, while a few guards were entering it with sniffer dogs.
"What's wrong?" I asked as I approached them.
"Someone sneaked into our house," Mother answered. "They left a note to us."
Yep, I did leave the note Yoongi gave me on the second floor last night.
"What note?" I asked, pretending to be clueless.
Father, who had a very concerned look on his face, shook his head and said, "I'll tell you once everything is clear."
After around ten minutes of searching, the guards and the dogs exited, telling my father that they couldn't find anything else. All three of us went back inside and father told us to sit at the dining table.
"Eunjung," Father said with a serious tone, "I'm going to tell you what happened. Somehow, an intruder managed to bypass all the security measures to get into our house and leave a note. I'm more than worried, especially since your holiday is coming up and you will stay in this house more. We are up-ing the security of this house ten folds. Eunjung, please be very careful with our own safety too."
I nodded. "I will, father. But what is on the note?"
"Darling," Mother spoke up before he could say anything, "Is it a good idea to tell our daughter so much?"
"She is almost an adult now. If she is to take over my company, she must start learning about it." Father then continued. "FIRE is having a meeting with the largest gang in Seoul, Seoulsangdeok, to enter an alliance. Someone leaked their meeting date and time to me. I'm not sure yet who could've done it."
I thought for a bit, then said, "If these two entered an alliance it would be mutually beneficial, right? Then might it have been some smaller gang that doesn't want this alliance to happen?"
Father raised his brows and looked at me. "Very good, Eunjung. That is exactly what I'm thinking too. I know there is a gang in Daegu called the Korean Tigers that is not friendly with either FIRE or Seoulsangdeok."
-----
The next day at lunch, I was the one that went to find Yoongi for a change. Together we walked to the canteen and sat at the table that his group of popular boys normally sit at. Yoongi scooted them to sit with my friends so that he and I were the only people on that entire round table. We were about to go get food when the model guy approached. He had a bruise on his cheek and I heard that he told other people he fell over.
"Yoongi-"
"What did I say yesterday?" Yoongi interrupted.
"Your majesty," he changed it. "Please, can I-"
"Go sit over there," Yoongi ordered, pointing at a table with a bunch of unpopular nerds. "There's a space for you."
"No, please," he begged.
"Do it." Yoongi spoke in a tone of 'or else'.
The model guy's expression twisted. He walked defeatedly to that table. Those boys scooted away in fright seeing him suddenly sit there. I noticed that the whole canteen was watching this unfold. I ignored their stares and got food with Yoongi.
"I've done it," I told Yoongi as soon as we sat back down. "My father thinks a smaller gang that opposes the alliance sent him that information."
A smirk appeared on his face. "Very good. I guess it's time to do my part."
"What will you do?" I asked.
"I will go inform Leader Kim that your father knows about the meeting and will be there."
"Wouldn't he ask how you know?"
"You really are clever. Yes, and that's why I need you to come with me."
Meeting a gang leader? "Me? You know I can't do that."
"Why not?"
"Do you not understand? I am working against my own father here. I won't go so far as to tell on him myself."
"Oh you will," Yoongi said. "I could have carried this plan out without you."
I narrowed my eyes and said firmly, "Don't you do that with me."
"Do what?"
"Use one of your little manipulation tricks. You know that will never get me to comply."
The smirk on his face fell a little. "...I'm sorry. I'm just used to speaking to people this way. I'll start again. What I mean is, we can be the leaders of FIRE together."
"Why should I trust you?" I asked. "How do I know you won't just use me to get to your goal?"
It seemed like he internally debated for a second as there was a slight pause. He then stared back into my eyes and stated, "I really like you."
That got me swallowing back whatever I was going to say. "Like? In what way?"
"I want you. I realised you are not the Queen of BAC for no reason. You are confident, you are clever, and you know what you want. I like that. I've never met a girl like you." He said all that without breaking eye contact once. Then he chuckled, "I'm going to be honest with you, I thought you were just one of those rich spoilt girls before I got to know you. Now I realised you are much more than that."
I was stunned silent by all that he just said. Yes, many guys had confessed to me before, but all of them were along the line of me being beautiful physically. Never had a guy focused on my personality. Never had a guy been so confident and straight forward while doing it. Never had a guy been like Min Yoongi.
And honestly, I was moved by that confession.
"Eunjung, aren't you going to say anything back?" Yoongi asked with a small smile, something akin to nervousness after confessing to a girl was on his face.
I realised that was the first time a boy has made me tongue-tied. I blinked my surprise away and replied, "I...appreciate that. And I thought you were just an arrogant popular boy... I have to admit I was wrong."
