I was still unsure about the whole underworld thing. Yoongi claimed that I would be suitable to not only be a part of it, but to have control over it. I didn't know if that was true. From the only encounter I've had with it, it seemed like I would have to be ruthless in deeds and killing; something I wasn't prepared to do. I would hate to go down this path only to find out later that I was not good enough.
"Mr Kim informed me that my father's funeral will be in two weeks," Yoongi said to me. I was once again invited over to his mansion after a week and a bit. I was sitting in the living room, but the sofas were different. As Yoongi said last time, he replaced the sofas with cream-coloured ones and also threw out the creepy animal heads.
I nodded, not knowing what to say. It looked like Yoongi was quite close to his father so I knew for all his talk of using his father's death for his own gain, he was actually devastated inside. I wanted to go with him to the funeral so that he would have someone with him there as he faced it. But why on earth would I be invited to a gang funeral?
"Do you want to come?"
"Can I?" I asked in surprise.
Yoongi nodded. "Leader Kim said I can invite whoever I want."
"How long is it?" I asked.
Yoongi thought for a moment, then said, "Gang funerals for top dogs tend to drag on for a while..."
"I would like to...but I don't know if I can. I'm scared that one day my parents would find out I've been meeting up with you," I replied honestly.
"Yes, you should deal with that problem soon," Yoongi said. "You are my girlfriend now, and we are going to meet up more. It's a good idea to think of what to say to your father. After all, you can't keep on saying that you are going shopping with Jiwoo or Sulgi."
"I don't know," I muttered while having a serious think about it. What could I do? I was in a relationship not only because I wanted to be there for him...but also because I admittedly have fallen for him a little. He was confident, he had a clear goal in life, and was good-looking to boot. I really liked that. I wanted to see how our relationship would develop. I had a feeling that this was different from all those past relationships I've had with other boys.
"My 18th birthday is coming up soon," I said. "Then I will be an adult. Maybe...then I can finally make my own decisions, away from my parents."
"Maybe," Yoongi said. "But I know they will not be happy hearing that you are going out with me. I know your father hated my father. He probably hates me too."
That Yoongi was right about. My father was a stubborn person, I knew I had no chance to convince him to accept our relationship. I could see a serious problem approaching if I didn't think of anything soon.
"But anyway," Yoongi said, "Let's get back to a more pressing thing. Do you think you can come to my father's funeral? I want you to come with me."
I replied with a sigh, "Fine, I will come. But help me think of an excuse. It's on a school day too, I can't miss it without my parents noticing."
"Alright, I will create an excuse for you."
Someone rang the doorbell to the mansion, interrupting our conversation. I saw a maid going to get it. Soon Jimin and Jungkook came in, along with two men behind them. My eyes focused and realised that the two men were carrying a sack...and it was moving.
"Here please," Jungkook said to the men.
They dumped it onto the floor in front of us and it made some muffled noises. They then bent down and removed the black bag over it, revealing the killer of Yoongi's father.
"Natasha Witek," Yoongi acknowledged. Her brilliant blue eyes glared at us, but she was unable to speak due to the gag in her mouth.
"Why is she here?" I asked.
"Leader Kim said I can deal with her however I want," Yoongi answered. "And I do have a thing to two in mind."
"Are you going to kill her?"
"Maybe." Yoong then said to Jimin, "Do you want to kill her?"
"Can I?" Jimin asked emotionlessly.
Yoongi nodded. "Go for it." His gazes went to an empty decorative vase on a table at the corner of the living room. "I don't like that vase, you can use it."
Jimin walked over to it and picked the small blue and white vase up. He came back over and stopped in front of the female mercenary, his gaze focused solely on her.
"Kill her," Yoongi ordered.
Jimin raised the vase above his head, and bought it down on Natasha's head. A strange noise of the china smashing into hundreds of pieces, mixed with something else, echoed around the room. I glanced at Yoongi and saw that he still had a smile on his face. The cruel thing that just happened under his order didn't even affect him the slightest. Instead, he looked to be waiting to see what would happen next.
Natasha was now on the floor, unconscious. Jimin picked up one of the pieces of china with a sharp edge and crouched down. He held it to her neck but stopped. He seemed to be contemplating this.
"Jimin, do it," Yoongi reiterated.
"I don't know if I should," Jimin muttered.
"Why?"
"Once I start, I won't be able to stop," he answered.
I was surprised by that rather alarming answer. So that was why Yoongi chose him to help in his quest? This Jimin boy was full-on psychopathic.
"You won't have to stop," Yoongi said.
"But...Miha said..."
Yoongi rolled his eyes and groaned. "I don't care about Lee Miha." Seeing as Jimin wasn't about to do it anytime soon, he sighed. "Fine. You don't have to kill her. You two," he said to the two men behind Jimin and Jungkook, "Bring her down to the cell in the basement." They grabbed the body on the floor and bought it away.
I asked Yoongi, "What are you planning to do with her then?"
He sighed, "I'm not sure... I will kill her one day."
"I think it's a waste," Jungkook spoke up with his prepubescent voice. "She is one of the best mercenaries in the world. It's too much of a waste just to kill her."
"But what can we do with her?"
"Hyung, does Eunjung have a trainer?"
"...No, why?"
"Would letting Natasha Witek train her be possible?"
"What is this?" I asked. "Training me for what?"
"Those two men that just left," Yoongi said, "I had them train Jimin and Jungkook. The underworld is dark and full of terrors, you can't go without some physical skills, especially because we are so young."
"Or she might just kill me when she gets the chance," I said.
"Yes," Jungkook said, "But it's a rare opportunity to be trained by one of the best killers in the world. And I heard she only works for money. Yoongi-hyung, you've got that, right?"
"Of course. Eunjung, what do you think?"
I thought for a second. "We can try... I can start by making talking to her and see what type of person she is, then we can decide."
Yoongi smiled. "Good. I guess it would indeed be a shame if we kill her and waste her skill."
