Today after school, Min Yoongi invited me to his house to do the project. But I knew, of course, that was just an excuse for more opportunity to complete his 'challenge'.
"Here we are," he muttered as the chauffeur pulled into the driveway of his family's mansion.
He stopped me from getting out of the car when it came to a halt. He then got out, ran around to my side, and held open the door for me.
I gave him a look as I got out. "I have hands, I can open doors."
He shrugged. "But you are my guest, remember?"
I followed him into the mansion. He led me past the front hall to a living room. It was my first time here and it was no less than what I expected. Extravagance seeped from every aspect of the room. A bit too much decoration for my taste with the stuffed deer and bear heads up high on the wall in the living room. The sofas were an odd dark red colour too.
We sat down on the sofas in front of a large plasma TV and he asked whether I would like a drink. I said no.
"Aren't we doing our project?" I asked. "Where is your computer?"
"In my room," he replied. "I just want to get to know each other better first, and I assumed you wouldn't want to do that in my room."
"And you were right in assuming that," I said.
"So," he put his arm along the top of his sofa and crossed his legs, "what do you want to do after leaving school?"
"I'm not sure yet," I answered. "I might go into law. But if all else fails, I can still take over my father's security company."
"Mm," he nodded. "Sounds interesting."
"You?" I asked.
The mysterious smile was once again back on his face. "Um... Following what my family does... Something like that."
I couldn't even be bothered to ask further about as I knew he would just play the 'I'm not gonna tell you' game. I just said, "okay."
He raised an eyebrow. "You're not going to ask about it?"
"No, because you won't tell me even if I asked."
"Clever."
Someone entered the living room at that moment and I saw that it was a middle-age man in a suit. He had hard lines on his face as if he had been under high pressure for a long time.
