Instead of going to dinner with my girls, I went to dinner with Yoongi and Leader Kim instead a few days later as per his invitation. I was once again back in his farmhouse further out in Busan.
Yoongi and I were led by a male servant in a yellow shirt to the dining room on the ground floor. I was surprised by more guests there standing around chatting with Leader Kim. The first thing I noticed was the bald man, Leader Kim's left-hand man, here again. Next to them was the guy that stared at me the other day, Han Yugyeom. When he noticed that I entered the room, he gave me a smile again.
"Ah, you are here," Leader Kim said as we approached him. He then said to the left-hand man, "Gyeongseok, here are the two I've been telling you about. Min Yoongi," Yoongi shook hands with him, "And Oh Eunjung." I went to shake hands with him too. His handshake was even firmer than my father's and left a light red mark on my hand. He only nodded to us instead of saying anything. I got the impression that he wasn't the most talkative person.
His son spoke up, "Hi, I'm Han Yugyeom." He gave me his hand and I shook it. His handshake was a lot more gentle than his father's. He then greeted Yoongi.
"Now that you all know who each other are, let's start the meal." Leader Kim said.
The yellow shirt servant bowed and went away to arrange it. We went to sit at the six seats rectangular table made of black wood. Leader Kim sat at the head, of course. Yoongi and I sat on the side to his right while the left-hand man and Yugyeom were opposite us.
"Namjoon!" Leader Kim shouted, "Are you ready?"
His son came hurrying into the small dining room. A goofy smile on his face as he sat down at the other end of the table next to me. "Sorry, I was just washing my hands."
Soon a few servants came back into the room with our food and drinks. We were having a rice dish of sort.
"Namjoon, Yoongi and Eunjung here helped me with my work, so this is a thank you meal for them."
"But, Dad, you still haven't told me what happened that day!" Namjoon exclaimed. "Why were all those people dead?"
"Namjoon! It's not the time to be talking about that now."
Namjoon frowned and stuffed a chopstick-full of rice into his mouth.
"I intend for Yoongi to continue what traditionally has been his family's responsibilities," Leader Kim said after taking a sip of his soju.
"Where does that leave Oh Eunjung?" That was the first time I ever heard the bald man, Mr Han, speaking. He continued, "She is the daughter of Oh Changwoo. No matter what she does for FIRE I will never trust her."
So this Han Gyeongseok was not only a quiet man but a man that weren't afraid to get straight to the point?
"That's also a decision for Yoongi," Leader Kim said. "She is one of his, after all."
I figured there was some other meaning behind what they were saying other than what part I would take in the gang business. Maybe this was some sort of test for Yoongi, to see whether he can control or use me for the gang's benefit. If I do indeed betray them that would prove Yoongi's judgment and people-control ability to be flawed, and subsequently unfit to be an executive like his father.
"Of course," Yoongi smiled, "Eunjung will be given suitable responsibility."
"Is any responsibility suitable for her?" Mr Han once again said. "She will always have ties to her family, and I think we cannot risk that."
"Father," Yugyeom said, "Maybe we can give Eunjung a chance before judging her?"
"What do you know?" he questioned his son harshly.
