I woke up sleepily from last night, laying carelessly across my bed as I stared at the ceiling. Somehow I woke up with my head near the end of the bed, and upset myself at the thought that I must've forgotten an exciting dream or something.
!
I sat up instantly as soon as I remembered that Chara was sleeping next door - like a kid who woke up on Christmas Day, wondering what his presents were going to be like. I rushed out of bed quickly as I thought out what I should do.
I wonder what Chara's like; she did seem awfully sleepy last night. How long does she need to sleep, though? 10 hours? 10 minutes? 1 week recharge? I put on some casual home-clothes as I left my dim room. The house was calm, so my parents must be working again.
I knocked on the door of the guest room, fiddling with my hands as I waited for a response... Nothing. I knocked again, "Chara? Are you awake?" Still there was no response. I then decided to open the door, peeking my head through, "Earth to Charaaaaa? You here?"
The awoken girl's body suddenly became visible as she lay on her stomach - my (E/c) eyes locking with her ones, blood red. She was squinting at me, one eye dug into the pillow. "You're up awfully early, no?"
I chuckled, "It's 10am, I mean, so..."
Chara closed her eyes fully, digging her whole face into the pillow. "Can't you let me sleep for five more minutes?" She muffled.
I sighed as I walked towards the window, drawing the curtains. "So you always gonna be this sleepy?" I asked her as she immediately sat up, facing me.
"No... Must be a side-effect." I didn't understand what she meant by that but I figured that I'd find out later, so I let it slide. "Anyway, what's the rush in waking me up?" She asked.
I looked back. "Well I dunno. I thought you'd be a lot more excited, in this uh... new, New Home."
She cocked an eyebrow as she rolled over onto her back, looking up at me, "I'm thrilled. Yet you seem a lot more excited than me?"
She must've caught onto my embarrassment as she giggled, but didn't look as if she stopped searching for an answer. "It's a little boring here alone. That's all."
"Mm."
I changed the subject as I walked towards the doorway, "Would you like some breakfast at least?" I asked.
Chara slid off the bed clumsily. "I should wash first." I agreed as I directed her to the bathroom, then made my own way to the kitchen.

I was making some pancakes - following Toriel's recipe - as Chara came out rocking her usual green sweater that I've grown accustomed to seeing.
"Do you have a hair dryer somewhere?"
I nodded, pointing to my room, and she left swiftly as I continued. We were out of chocolate so I decided to add some honey into the mix, hoping she would like it. Since I was technically her host, I decided to clean up the lounge quickly while she was drying off, putting on the TV - creating a relaxed atmosphere. Chara came back into the room friskily as I went to get our plates from the kitchen.
"Just make yourself at home, I'll bring this over!" I walked over with two plates in my hand, setting it down to Chara who sat on the opposite couch thanking me, as well as making myself comfortable.
"This seems like a nice place, I may get used to it here." She remarked.
I smirked, "Well this place is yours as much as mine now. I don't really pay the bills here so I have no right to kick you out."
