The auditorium was large and the lights up top were all centred on the stage up front. It was impressive - I heard they made a few renovations last term but even then, I didn't really take time to admire this place - only when I got bored during an assembly or forced to wait for Frisk as she sung or acted or danced her heart out.

We walked down the aisle and towards the sound of music behind the undrawn curtains. Papyrus seemed hard at work from the determined expression on his face, while some other students were dotted around: Some were looking at music sheets by the piano, others on the floor discussing how they should make the props...

"Papyrus. The lovely Frisky." Chara made the first move.

"HUMANS!"

"Uh, hi, (Y/n)."

Papyrus grinned as he realised that we stood in the midst of his 'masterpiece', followed by an unenthusiastic Frisk. I smiled back warmly at her with a little wave, and let an eager Chara take the lead.

"It's a lovely setup you have here, no?"

The skeleton tilted his beret, which came from the art department judging by the paint smudges, and replied with a simple 'Oui!'. I wasn't sure if being chosen to direct the play gave him a french accent, or if it was perhaps the hat, but he looked happy enough. I had to admit that it actually went well with his signature red scarf.

After a few more minutes of questions, sweet talking and an annoyed huffing by Frisk in the back, Papyrus continued to explain his situation at hand.

"The play is MAGNIFICENT, but alas, most students decided to endeavour on other projects once I came along. I... I think I may have overestimated myself."

We all cocked an eyebrow as he spoke, suddenly a lot more interested in his sudden change of heart.

"I thought my coolness would've attracted them to be more involved in the play, but I fear that they realise thEIR TALENT IS INSUFFICIENT ENOUGH TO PARTAKE IN A MASTERPIECE SUCH AS MINE!"

I sighed. Maybe next time.

"Uh, right." Chara smiled. "I believe (Y/n) and I can help you with that!"

There was a look of hesitation across his face. "Do you two even have experience?"

"Experience? Well, we know that you're directing this play, and with how cool you are, and how awesome you can lead, we would follow your every order..."

And the more she spoke, the wider he grinned.

Nudge

Frisk, still annoyed it seems, pulled me away from the others.

"Um, (Y/n)'s supposed to be here for the play with me, if you didn't see that." Chara interrupted her own conversation in an ugly manner.

"We're just talking, that's all. Like normal people. Like we've always done. If you didn't see that."

Red eyes frowned without a reply and I couldn't help but continue walking with Frisk, considering everything. This is a hard decision, and I'm not even making the decisions! Now I see why Sans told me I was going to have a bad time...

We exited the auditorium and lapped around the corridors for a while. The place was still almost empty as it was after school, and the tranquility that came so, in contrast to the normal day was good enough for us to pretend like we were walking alone on a beach, or something intimate like that.
