Cassidy
He sat across the table from me and we stared at each other as everything else continued on around us. A gust of wind flew past and I turned my head to the right where a woman at the table next to us was on the phone crying. When I looked to my left there stood a couple kissing. And past Ashton there was and elderly couple holding hands. It was these types of things I never notice. The world around us. We seemed to always shut it out. The only thing we didn't seem to shut out was each other.
"Hey." He spoke grabbing my attention.
"Yeah?" I asked looking up at him.
"Is everything okay?" He asked taking my hand and rubbing small circles with his thumb.
"Of course. Why wouldn't it be?" Even though I knew he knew it wasn't okay.
"Because I'm your best friend Cass. I can tell there's something bugging you. Come on, tell me."
"It makes me sad seeing that there's people suffering behind smiles. That old couple is trying not to cry when he knows that she is sick and is trying to stay strong. The way he's holding on to her shows. Then he's kissing her with his eyes open. He's clearly cheating. on her. There's just so much people see but don't really know. It's just sad sometimes..." I said looking down at our hands holding each other. I wonder what we looked like on the outside.
"Cass, we all have struggles. Everyone likes to hide them. But they learn how to deal with them. Like me and you, we have have problems. They don't affect us," He smiled.
"But when I'm with you it's like there aren't any problems. In the world in general. Not just between us. But honestly there are people struggling day by day in life. With you, it all becomes irrelevant."
"So let it be irrelevant. I think the boys are all at the house in the pool. That sound fun?" He grinned at the topic of the boys. He loved them so much.
"Definitely. Race you to the car!" I smiled standing up quickly and letting my feet carry me fast to the car as I ran.
Before I knew it I felt a pair of arms lift me off the ground.
"Not fair missy. You got a head start," He said carrying me towards the car.
"Well thanks. I was to lazy to walk anyways," I smiled and he set me down, smacking my butt.
"You lazy bum," He laughed getting into the car.
"You shouldn't be talking Irwin. You literally crawled out of bed and into the shower. You even showered with your clothes on. I almost slipped on your boxers when I went in to shower," I joined him in the car and buckling my seat belt.
"Says the one who left her bra hanging on the shower head," He scoffed.
"It was my bikini top and I had to rinse the sand out!"
"Okay, whatever miss 36b," He laughed and my head shot to him sharply.
"You know my bra size?" I asked shocked.
"Cassidy, I know everything about you."
He might know everything but there was one thing I was definite he didn't know.
