Cassidy
So here I was sitting in an overrated cafe. With male baristas, a pink haired chick who looked like she didn't give a fuck about anything at the counter, and people who are blogging and writing their new 'Best Selling' stories on their laptops. It was laid back but like I said, overrated and highly typical.
Danny was busy flirting with the barista and the counter, leaving me alone here in the empty booth.
I still rather have been alone in my room with my music and empty thoughts. I liked it better that way. It wasn't great, but it was second best.
"Cass!" A voice erupted, tearing the comfortable silence in the café.
Michael, Calum, and Luke all came through the door and came my way.
"Where's Ashton?" Calum asked as they all filled in my booth. Luke and Calum across from me, and Michael next to me.
I only shrugged in response and Luke gave me a skeptical look.
"He's with you right?" He asked and I shook my head.
"You sure? I just got off the phone with him and he said he was with you." Michael said and I finally spoke up.
"No. He's not with me. I haven't seen him in almost 4 hours and I'm pretty sure I'm never seeing him again. I don't care where he is so just leave me alone." I said laying my head down on the table.
"Hey." Michael spoke and I didn't respond.
"Where are you?" He asked and I looked up noticing he was talking on the phone, not to me.
"You sure?"... "Well where are you really and with who?"... "Ashton! We know you're lying. I'm sitting right next Cassidy now!" He raised his voice. Just at the sound of his name I could feel my lungs cave in.
I didn't know why but Michael handed his phone to me and my hands began to shake as I grabbed it from him.
"Cass?" Ashton spoke up. "You there?" He said again. I could hear the slightest slur in his voice.
"I'm here." I said quietly, pushing Michael of the booth so I could slide out. I walked to the corner of the room and the boys' eyes followed me.
"I'm so sorry." He said and it sounds like he was crying and I could hear water running in the background.
"Listen to me Ash, where are you?" I asked becoming concerned.
"Don't. I just want to apologize. Bye Cassidy. I love you."
"Ashton! Don't you dare hang up that phone." I yelled panicking. I knew he was going to do something bad.
"Tell the boys I'm sorry." And he hung up.
I rushed to the boys table and handed Michael his phone quickly. I didn't say anything to them though. I just ran over to another table where Danny sat as they called after me.
"Oh hey sweetie. This is-" He began to introduce his boy toy.
"No time. Keys. Now." I said trying to pull them out of his pocket and he handed them to me.
"Here, woah. What's wrong?" He asked but I just ran out the door. For all we know, I was already too late.
Speeding down the road I swerved onto the boys lawn. I left the car door wide open as I ran into the unlocked house. Up the stairs I began to scream his name.
"Ashton!" I shouted pulling on his door knob which was locked. Michael had a hammer in his room from a week ago when he began to smash holes in his wall. God knows why...
I brought the hammer to the door roughly and the wood cracked. A couple more times and there was enough room for me to squeeze in there.
His bathroom door was open the sight in front of me when I walked in was torturing. There laid an unconscious Ashton in the tub stained with blood and water. I stepped over an empty pill bottle and the tears fled out of my eyes.
"Ashton. Wake up." I cried kneeling next to the tub and held his face in my hands. I knew he wasn't sleeping...
I stepped into the tub behind Ashton and leaned back holding his body in his arms.
"Ashton! Cass!" The boys' shouts echoed through the house as they ran up the stairs.
They stood silent with wide eyes in the bathroom door. Luke called an ambulance and I remained holding onto Ashton's almost lifeless body.
Less than 10 minutes paramedics rushed in yelling at the boys to move and they took Ashton away from me, putting him onto a gurney.
"Who will be coming with us?" A paramedic asked and I was quick to raise my hand as I stood up from the tub.
"I will." Calum said leaving with him, totally ignoring me.
"Why can't I go!?" I yelled trying to go but Luke pulled me back.
"Cassidy, I know you want to be with Ashton but we need you to relax and tell us what you know." He told me calmly and I began to panic, pacing the bathroom.
"It's my fault. It's all my fault."
"No it's not." Michael shook his hand trying to approach me in a hug but I tried to escape again.
"I need to leave. I need fresh air or something." I tried pushing past Luke but they both had a hold on me.
"We're not going to risk losing you either." Michael frowned and I shook my head.
"You didn't lose Ashton. He lost himself."
(A/N- I don't like this. I'm sorry but here you go Maggie. I have up to Chapter 12 written but I've been to lazy to edit and type it all up. Anyways vote/ comment or whatever. Hope you guys liked it. Bye sweeties!) *Oh and I apologize if the blood in the tub is confusing to where it has come from- Ashton self harmed. Thought I should clear that up but once I finish this story I'll go back and re-write a few things.* ~L
