A/N: Hey guys! Just wondering if anyone has started school and if not when do you? Good luck to everyone in school and I know your gonna have a great school year :)

Tessa POV

It had been 3 days since AJ and I broke up and I was trying to stay as positive as possible.

I wasn't really upset that the relationship had ended... it was the way it had ended.

Everyone in the house was trying to make me feel better and I apppreciated the thought, but all the special treatment just made me remember it more.

I probably would have been able to forget and move on faster if everyone wasn't constantly reminding me.

Erika had taken me to go shopping, which was nice except for the fact that she brought up the break up only 50 times. I love Erika, but I just want to forget.

Meg had taken me to one of her yoga classes which I thought would be fun until I found out it was the singles class and, well, there's a reason every guy in there was single.

And Jake and Anthony took me with them to a paintball match and apparently told the guy on the other team I was single and ready to mingle.

I was taken out of my trance by Chance's voice.

"Hey, Tessa, will you come with me to pick up our food?"

"Huh? Um.. Yeah, sure."

The thing I loved about Chance was he wouldn't treat me different than before the breakup.

I mean sure he might be a little more sensitive, but not to the extent of anyone else in the house.

"Do you wanna walk there or go in a car?"

"We can walk," I decided since it was so pretty outside.

"Thank you," I said out of the blue.

"For what?" Chance looked at me confused.

"For not treating me differently, ya know, with everything that's happened."

"Yeah, of course."

"You're a really good friend, Chance," I said, but I couldn't help, but notice the hurt in his eyes.

"Yeah, friend," he muttered to himself, but I heard it.

I'm not gonna lie- I think Chance is pretty hot and sweet and I may have a tiny crush on him, but it's just a crush. And I know he doesn't like me back so it's a waste of time.

I don't want Chance and I to end up like AJ and I did or ruin our friendship.

We finally got to our destination and walked up to the register.

"Order for Paul," Chance said.

"Jake?" The lady asked.

"That's the one."

"Alright, it's going to be $35.67."

She handed us our bag with the food in it and Chance carried it all.

"I can carry some if you want," I offered.

"No, I got it," he insisted.

"Wait, why did I come if you can just carry all of it?"

"Just wanted some company," Chance said with a smile, while intertwining our hands.

I look up at him and he smiles at me. I look down trying to hide the smile on my face.

"Just friends though," Chance says, jokingly.

"Yeah, just friends," I say, hardly able to contain the smile on my face.
