Tessa's POV

My alarm woke me up at 8 and I groaned, but then realized it was Saturday which meant that I had to get ready. Every Saturday, Chance and I go get breakfast at this cute cafe by our house.

By the time I had taken a shower, fixed my hair, and gotten changed, it was 9 which was normally when we left.

I headed downstairs and I saw Chance.

"You ready?" he asks.

"Yup, lessss gooo."

We headed out the door and walked to the cafe.

As Chance opened the door, we headed to the line.

I was in the middle of deciding what I wanted when Chance suddenly seemed really panicked.

"You know, Tessa, maybe we should go somewhere else," he said.

"Why?" I asked, confused.

"Just.. you know. It's a long line and.."

"Chance, we're next in line."

I realized he was obviously blocking something so I pushed him out of my way and the sight before me crushed my heart into pieces.

"AJ?" I whispered, sadly.

There he sat at a table with Amelia laughing and his arm around her. 

He looked up and his expression immediately dropped.

"Tessa," He got up and walked towards me, but I wasn't having it.

I immediately ran out the doors despite him calling my name as I left.

I felt so stupid. How could I be so blind? Obviously they aren't just friends.

I ran all the way back to the Team 10 house.

When I walked in, everyone turned to see me standing in the doorway crying, but I just ran upstairs and went in my room, soon followed by Erika, who I explained everything to.

"He isn't worth your tears, Tessa."

"I know, Rik, I just... I just feel so stupid. I mean, all the signs were there. I don't know, Erika, I think I was trying too hard to make it work. I guess it's for the best..."

"No, T, I know it's for the best. All he was doing was bringing you down and I think this is what you needed to open your eyes. It may have started out as a healthy relationship, but it got toxic fast and I'm glad you finally dropped him."

"I mean I haven't officially broken up with him yet.." I admitted.

"But you are... right? You better break up with him or I swear, T-"

"Don't worry, Erika, I'm sure he knows it's over and if he doesn't I'll make sure he does.. I've let this thing go on way too long as it is."

"Good," Erika gave me hug.

"But, didn't Chance go with you though..?" Erika asked me.

"Yeah. I ran straight here though after... he probably had to run some errands or something though I don't know."

"Yeah, but he would be back by now wouldn't he?" Erika asked me.

I shrugged not really wanting to think about it anymore.

Erika and I were watching Cooks vs. Cons and we were trying to figure out who was the con when we heard the door open.

We both turned to see Chance whose nose was bleeding and his lip was swollen. I looked on my phone and saw that it was 9:34 pm.

"What happened to you?" Erika quickly rushed up and went to Chance's side.

His eyes immediately landed on me and I got up to stand by him.

"Yeah seriously what happened?" I asked, concerned.

"Don't worry about it," he said shaking it off, "Are you okay?" he asked me.

"Yeah, I'm fine," I replied, not really wanting to talk about it.

He gave me a look like he didn't believe me.

"Yeah well I'm gonna get some sleep," he said and with that he went upstairs.

Erika and I went back on the couch and watched a few more episodes of Cooks vs. Cons

"I think I'm going to bed now and you probably should too," Erika said.

"Yeah, I'll be up in a few," I said, but I couldn't stop thinking about what must have happened to Chance. I'll get it out of him tomorrow.
