Chance's POV

Tessa has been acting really different lately and has been gradually getting worse. She just seems so on edge and stressed out all the time.

No one else seems to notice... other than Jake who asked me about it a couple of days ago.

I brought it up to him again today to see if he still felt the same way and he simply said 'no dude I think she's just been a bit stressed.'

I don't know. Maybe I'm just overreacting or maybe it's the fact that I simply don't like AJ- only because of the way he treats Tessa. I can't help, but think... how much better I would treat her.

Like the other day, he came in the house and just told Tessa they were going somewhere and to hurry up and get ready- what kind of a boyfriend says that?

I hope Tessa knows she can always talk to me about it and I'm always here, but I don't want her to think I'm doubting her relationship as I don't want to jump to any conclusions just based off my opinion of the guy.

"Hey Chance," I look up and see Tessa sitting across from me on her phone. It was really early in the morning and no one else was up yet. Normally I don't wake up this early, but for some reason I did today.

"Hey, Tessa, what are you doing today?"

"Nothing much," she said, smiling.

"Are you eating breakfast?"

"Uh- no I'll pass," she says, shyly.

"Come on Tessa, you have to eat something."

"Not hungry."

I frowned slightly, hoping she truly wasn't hungry.

"Okay, are you sure? I make some mean pancakes," I said jokingly.

She didn't even crack a smile.

"Tessa, seriously, what's wrong?"

"I'm just a little stressed, but I'll be fine."

"Okay. Is there anything I can help you with?"

"No, but thanks, Chance," she said and walked to the office.

Maybe Jake was right, that she is just stressed, but it could be something else too... I can't shake the feeling that it's AJ, but I don't want to judge him. But if he is hurting Tessa, he better watch his back.

I walked into the office and was greeted by Nick and Erika- the omly early birds then noticed Tessa nervously tapping away on her phone.

Then the rest of the guys came downstairs.

"Hey guys, wanna go to the gym?" Jake asked.

"Yeah, I'm down," Anthony, Ray, and I agreed.

"Tessa, you coming?" Jake asked.

"Um..," she paused, "Yeah, sure."

"Okay, I'm going to go get changed real fast, meet you guys down here," Jake said as we all headed to get ready.

When we got to the gym, we each went our own ways to do our own routines.

After about an hour and a half, we were all tired and hungry and decided to head over to McDonald's.

We all ordered our own thing and I made sure Tessa got some food as she hadn't really eaten anything today.

Luckily, she did and I watched her eat it too. I don't know why I'm so worried about her.

We got back after we ate and decided to watch a movie.

About halfway through I felt a pressure on my chest and I looked down to see Tessa laid out across my chest asleep. I smiled to myself and put my arm around her and thought-

This is how it ought to be.
