I sat alone on the floor playing with my two plushies. Despite the fact that Steve demanded that somebody stay with me, Tony said that Jarvis, the ceiling voice, was a good babysitter.

A few hours later I was starting to wonder if they'd ever come back. And then was thinking of all the possible situations that may or may not be happening, my new family minus Steve walked into the room. They look tired and we're all out of breath making me panic.

"Where's Steve" I ask standing up to search behind them.

Natasha looked at everybody else then down to me. Her normally fiery green eyes like a gentle tide. Her voice was just as gentle washed over me "He was injured on the mission, Percy". Her body betrayed her honey voice. Steve was hurt and he needed me to make sure he got better.

I nodded and took her hand trying to look as miserable as possible, which was easier than I would like to admit. "Can I see him".

Hearts shattered like pink diamond and before I knew it we were in the 'infirmary'. I sat down on the bed wondering how I could help. The cuts were to big for normal bandaids when I asked were to big enough bandaids they cooed.

"Bandaids aren't going to work but maybe next time", Bruce shrugged. I gaped in horror there will be a next time. My mind couldn't handle that so I curled in a ball and slept, dreams don't handle pain they are the easiest escape.

The last thing I heard was Tony's voice playful say "Kid has a point. We aren't any help tired".

Crap that hurts were the first of many words to describe the pain in arms. The deep gashes were the first thing I saw when my eyes opened. The second was that we got a dog because something with black hair was curled next to my side.

I then realized that something was a someone. And said someone was Percy Jackson. Then I realized I mentally called the child a dog. Welp there went my '#1 D̶a̶d̶ Hero' mug.

I tried not to wake as I got up to go to the kitchen and maybe get some Advil. Everybody was in the kitchen talking but as walked in it was quieter than a mouse.

"He has been here for three days and he already loves you", Tony starts braking the silence. "Also I took a photo and I putting on my desk".

"You have a desk".

"Bar counter, but still".

Natasha rolled her emerald eyes "You should have seen him, He looked so miserable like a kicked baby seal."

I stopped and looked dead into her eyes. "What about-" my Percy "him?".

Bruce stepped forward this time "What are you going to do about Fury."

Tony laughed "Yeah he's going to be furious with you . You adopted a kid". My heart broke at the thought of Fury taking him away from me, he was mine now.

After a quick breakfast we went down the infirmary to go and check on Percy. The moment we got there we saw that he had just woken up and was on the verge of a panic attack. He was hyperventilating but the giraffe in Madagascar. But he stopped as soon as he saw me.

He didn't hesitate to jump into my arms. His tiny limbs wrap themselves around my neck, I am think he was going to like us anytime soon. I wrapped my arms around him and return. I knew the team was watching and maybe taking pictures for whatever scrapbook they have. Still weird but what in my life is normal at this.

When Percy ran into Steve's arms the world so right. Percy needs somebody to be there for him just as much as stated Steve does. It was  a necessity we didn't know we needed but now that we had it, had him, what more could we do, how could we live without him?

Hours past like second filled with joy, and laughter. Board games were everywhere along with feathers from the pillows in Clint's room. Everything settle down till Percy was sitting in Steve's lap playing with stuffed animals.

The elevator suddenly opened to Fury, his eyes lit up with rage as the mess then he saw Percy. The temperature in the room drunk. Fury cleared his throat but it came out as a growl, a deep growl. "What happened? And what is that?"

Steve cheeks dusted pink. He lift Percy up telling to go to his room. (Steve's room because Percy doesn't have a room yet. He has only been here three days.). His body language commanded armies but his eyes didn't have the same effect looking down at the floor.

Once Percy was gone  Steve stepped forward Fury. "This is the result of team bonding. And that was my ward" Fury froze "His name is Percy. I adopted him when his mother's killed was convicted."

Fury growled "Send him to foster care" Then I heard a soft gasp and softer footsteps. Percy heard Fury and he heard the power behind the words.

I missed most of the argument but I caught the Steve's stand "No, I'm sorry sir but but he's staying here whether you like it or not". This a demand his like fire, keeping love ones warm and enemies at bay. Steve's words were final. Fury growled but relented.

I watched Steve leave to be with his child, I followed silently. I watched as Percy crumbled into his arms like a iceberg toppling in the sea. "You aren't going anywhere Percy. This is your home now."
