Melava met Solas when she was 6 the two wolves walked up to him as he arrived in the woods where she spent a lot of time anything to get away from those insufferable Dalish.... she DID consider herself an ELF but NOT Dalish.... she had noticed that she somehow created a force field type shield as the Clan's Keeper came toward her.... she didn't quite care for this Keeper her 4th in the past 2 years.... she didn't even realize that she did it but once she did she ran as far from the camp as her small feet would carry her and the wolves her friends no that isn't right they are her family she only stopped when she couldn't run no longer she ended up by a small lake and turned when she noticed the two wolves walk away from her which they have never done before "Justice!?!"  she asks "no!"  she hears a soft male voice answer with a slight chuckle in his tone when she sees the smiling bald blue eyed elf now stand before her holding onto his staff with one hand she says "oh!.... sorry!.... I thought.... you were someone else!"  his smile brightens as he nods knowingly and he says "a Spirit of Justice"  she replies "one that never leaves the Fade!.... silly me!"  she looks up at the sky and shouts softly in a teasing fashion "and here I thought he FINALLY gained some bravery!!"  the elf chuckles she looks into his eyes and shrugs then says "Valor's the same way.... but he helps the mages of the Circles with their Harrowing...."  she shakes her head then continues "what a stupid test!.... to risk possession like that!.... or suffer tranquility..... do those spirits even realize what they make them do!?!"  his eyes widen at her soft worried tone and she asks "oh.... sorry!.... I'm rambling aren't I?!"  he laughs then replies with a smile "that's alright da'len...."  he sees her flinch when she hears the word da'len he looks at her confused "the Keepers call me da'len.... I don't very much care for the Keepers!"  she tells him muttering her last sentence he laughs and she smiles....

"My name is Melava Sulevan.... and you are?!"  she says to him he smiles then replies "Solas"  she tilts her head at him and says "your magic.... it's what I felt when I met them!"  she takes a careful step toward him as she continues "thank you for allowing them to stay!.... I am uncertain where I'd be without them.... either a slave.... or dead I presume.... don't look at me like that!.... I was a Keepers First.... I HAD to grow up quickly!!"  he chuckles as he takes a long step toward her and says "I have never seen anyone care for a Spirit like you do lethallin.... and I am pleased to be of service"  he bows before her and she looks at him curiously he smiles then asks "you will need to have someone teach you magic will you not!?!"  she replies "I do know that the Keepers would never teach me.... as a way to control me possibly.... but I am completely capable....!"  he laughs as he places a gentle hand on her shoulder and says "I have no doubt that you could lethallin.... but I would be honored if you would allow me to.... assist.... perhaps.... you may use my staff"  she chuckles as she takes the staff he offers her as gently as she could he is surprised by her gentle nature "as you wish.... but I won't call you Master!.... Uncle.... perhaps.... but not Master.... or Father....!"  she says she pauses then says softly "just seems wrong somehow!"  he replies "just as you dislike the word da'len.... I dislike the word Master.... "Uncle" might take some getting use too"  she smiles up at him and he stands behind her and begins to show her how to hold and use the staff. he tests her to see what she already knows.... which isn't much..... he is surprised to see how quickly she learns everything without making any mistakes "your calmness helps me stay calm.... I am uncertain how else to explain it.... but I seem to channel from others.... their emotions..... blend.... with my own somehow..... at least when I use my magic!"  she explains he looks at her as she continues on her own watching her he can't help but smile....

They don't spend ALL their time just learning and teaching about magic he also shows her how to protect herself as she enters the Fade.... as the years go by she introduces him to Valor and Justice as they wander and shows him what the two warrior spirit friends have been teaching her he even meets "her Pride" and tells him about a spirit of Compassion that had saved her from dying when she was 2 years old.... her very first friend.... "I think I killed him!.... Compassion"  she says as she touches the Demon who has kneeled to her teenage level "Pride was there for me.... when I went into the Fade that night.... or at least that's how it felt to me.... he was the one who taught me that even Demons can be kind!"  she explains as she puts her hand back down at her side and the Demon stands up then walks away Solas watched in surprise the interaction between the 2 of them "even after all these years you still find ways to surprise me lethallin"  he says looking into her eyes she laughs softly he smiles at her "your leaving aren't you!?!.... that's why you brought me here.... to say goodbye!"  she asks softly and he nods then says softly "yes lethallin"  she hugs him and he hugs her back and says "I'm sure we will see each other again lethallin"  she chuckles he pulls her at arms length and looks into her eyes and says "I am proud of you!"  she laughs then asks with a smile "saw that did you!?!"  he smiles then says "yes I did!"  she replies "Hawen's one of the good ones.... it will be a sad day when I have to say goodbye to the hahren.... but that is the way it has been since I was a child.... and I am not his First so I am not "bound" by Dalish chains.... I had only met one other Keeper that I had ever gotten "along" with.... but she might give me away to the Wardens so I'm gonna stay away for awhile!"  he laughs "Marethari of the Talas clan.... funny how I get along with the stern and somewhat strict ones huh!?!"  she teases and his laughter grows as she leaves the Fade but he stays
