*Next Morning- (Y/n POV)*

I stretched out as I woke up, a small sliver of light peaking through the curtains. I rolled over and checked my phone for the time. It was 9:30 and it took about 10 minutes to walk to the cafe. 'Shit!' I mentally cursed as I quickly got out of bed and headed to the bathroom for a quick shower. As I sped through my morning routine I tried to figure out what to wear.' What was the appropriate medium for a maybe date?' I pondered as I blow dried my damp locks.

Not having much time to choose, I decided to go on the nicer side of casual. I threw on a plain long sleeved (f/c) dress that hit mid thigh and pair matching stockings that hit right above my knees scince the weather was getting colder. I looked in the mirror and nodded in approval as I grabbed a small purse to keep my wallet and my phone. As I picked up my phone to put it in my purse, it lit up from a text. A text from Gray none the less.

(Gray POV)

I quickly threw on a dark blue tee shirt and some pants as I hurried to the bathroom to brush my teeth. After I finished in the bathroom I sent (Y/n) a text asking her which cafe it was because she never exactly specified. I slid on my shoes and was out the door, still looking at my phone waiting for a reply.

(Y/N POV)

I quickly walked out the door as I typed, knowing that I would be late if I didn't hurry. As soon as I hit 'send' I ran into something. To be specific, Gray himself. As I stumbled backwards he grabbed my wrist and pulled me towards him so I didn't fall. A light blush spread across my cheeks as I stuttered out an apology. "I-I'm sorry, I should have been paying more attention." He just let out a small chuckle. "No harm, no foul. And since we already ran into each other, we can just walk together. " I just smiled and nodded as my words got caught in my throat.

We walked in a comfortable silence through the chilly, late autumn weather. The streets were relatively quiet this time of morning, and today was no different. We walked in a comfortable silence. Colorful leaves being blown from their neat piles, it was a pretty sight. "Don't you love this time of the year?" I broke the silence and looked up at him. He just nodded, not saying anything. But that was okay, I didn't mind the silence.

Once we got to the cafe, we chose a spot inside to shelter from the cold breeze that was blowing. "So what do you want to drink and I will go order." I asked. "Oh, just a black coffee." He said as he pulled out his wallet. I stopped him, "No." He gave me a questioning look. "Put your wallet away, I'm not going to let you pay." I said as I walk up to the counter.

I came back after a few minutes with the goods. "Here is your plain bean water." I sat it down in front of him and laughed. "Bean water?" He questioned with an amused look playing on his features. "That's all it is, just water run through some bitter beans." He just laughed, "Well, then what did you get?" I smiled at him. "Well unlike you, I love myself and got something that actually taste good. (F/d) to be exact."

After a few minutes of sitting in another comfortable silence, I decided to break it. "So, what do you do other than work at Fairy Tail?" He looked a little surprised that I asked. "Oh, um... That's it, actually." He let out a small laugh. "What about you?" I smiled a little bit, "I work at the boutique for now and I work as an artist for a friend on the side." He took another sip of his coffee and then questioned, "Artist? For what?" I blushed a little and looked into my almost empty cup. "Oh...just a manga series... nothing too big..."

We talked back and forth for a while, about many different things. It turns out that we had a decent amount in common. As we walked back to the apartment building, I had noticed that he was talking a lot more now. I let a small smile slip on to my face as I stole glances at him from the side. Eventually we had made it to our rooms. "We should do this again, I had a lot of fun." I smiled at him. He let a small smile break his usual stoic features, "Yeah, we should." With that we parted ways.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~I was going to post this Wednesday and put out a different chapter today, but I'm just a lazy human being that got wrapped up in the time consuming horrors of anime and video games. I also had plans to finish this by this Friday considering my school starts back Monday and I need to focus on that buuuttttt that isn't going to happen. It will continue and get an ending it will just be a lot later than I planned. Also, after Friday I will probably only be putting out one chapter a week, sadly. Thank you for your support :)
