A Forbidden Practice ( Gray x reader)

(Y/N POV- Three weeks later)

I looked at my phone as I laid in bed. I looked at the message I had sent Gray, still left on unread. I sighed and rolled over, why am I so bothered by him not responding. I shut the screen off and pulled the covers over my head as I tried to go back to sleep.

A ding woke me up from my light sleep. I grabbed my phone and quickly unlocked it when I saw a text notification. Disappointment settled when it was (F/N)'s name to pop up. She was asking if I could cover for another girl at work. I dragged myself out of bed and to the bathroom to get ready. I stood under the hot water, just thinking. 'Why do I care so much about this.' I pouted to myself. I cut the water off once it turned luke warm and stepped out into the frigid bathroom. I shivered and quickly toweled off and got dressed.

I stopped in front of Gray's door. I wanted to knock, but I couldn't bring myself to. If he wanted to talk or see me then he would have done so... That's what I told myself as I shook my head and walked past his apartment and headed to work.

(Gray PoV)

I had my hands on my knees, hunched over, coughing. My lungs were burning as I took a break from running. I was chasing after some god forsaken rabbits on a deserted island off the coast of Japan. This mission was supposed to be easy, quick, painless. Boy was I wrong. I looked up and made eye contact with said rabbit. I dashed. If only these were normal rabbits. No. They just had to be on the heavy end of 50 pounds.

I walked back to the small village with the rabbit tied by the feet dragging behind me. I tossed the last one into the cage they had set up and groaned. 'This is hell' I thought to myself. The village leader walked over and patted me on the back. "Thank you so much for your help." He smiled and had me walked back with him for the reward.

I was laying down on the small row boat as it floated back to the main lands. Natsu groaned and emptied his stomach over the side. This is why he walks everywhere. I looked at him as he hung over the side of the boat, "What the hell was that mission?" I asked. "I thought it would be easy cash. All the flier said was to hunt some rabbits..." Natsu replied as he puked again.

Once we got back to the main island we boarded a train ,that went over with Natsu as well as the boat did. By the time I made it back to my apartment It was well past midnight. I stumbled in half asleep sighed in relief. I made my way to the kitchen for a snack when I saw my phone on the counter. I plugged it in and watched it boot back to life. I waited and saw multiple messages pop up after a few minutes. The only texts that I was focused on were the two from (Y/N).

(Y/N): Hey, I was wondering if you wanted to go for coffee again?

(Y/N): I guess you are busy, but the offer still stands if you want...

The first text was the day after I left and the second about a week later. "Shit." I mumbled. She probably thinks I have been ignoring her for the past few weeks. I sent her a text vaguely explaining why I didn't respond sooner and went to bed.

*Groan* So I finished my first week of school and it sucks ass, but that's okay because it isn't all bad. Sorry for the short chapter (Like 400 words shorter than normal) but this was rushed and I am already behind on work. On another note, I am thinking about starting another book of sorts, I was thinking a My Hero Academia Katsuki x Reader. Let me know what you guys think about that.
