(Y/n POV)

"(Y/n), are you okay?" (F/n) Asked as I leaned on the counter and shifted on my feet. It had been a constant flow of customers with little breaks in between. I groaned quietly and looked over at her. "Yeah, my back is just killing me... I think I have just been on my feet too long." She agreed that she too was achy. I sighed and stood back up straight as the bell rang, more customers coming in to the shop.

Lunch rolled around and we couldn't have been more ready. Putting a sign up, we both retreated to the back. "So how long until Gray is back?" (F/n) Asked as she grabbed both of our lunches from the small fridge. I took my food from her and stretched out my back. "I'm not sure. He said he would be gone for a few weeks, but it has already been three..." I trailed off, trying to suppress the worry. "I'm sure he is fine." She smiled and sat down across from me.

The break passed too soon and we made our way back to the front. The rush of customers had slowed to a crawl. I let out a yawn and laid my head on the counter. My eyelids felt extremely heavy as I struggled to stay awake. "I think I am getting sick..." I mumbled out. This caught (F/n)'s attention and she scooted further away. "You should go home and get some rest. It is Flu season, you know." She stated.

I went straight home after being sent home early. Between the aches and fatigue, I was convinced I was getting the flu. I basically had to drag myself up to my apartment. I stripped myself out of my uniform and tossed it into my hamper. As I slipped a loose shirt on, I caught sight of myself in the mirror. I lifted my shirt back up and looked at my bare skin. I looked like I had put on some weight. "I should start working out.." I mumbled to myself and shook it off as I crawled into my bed.

A sudden urge shook me from my sleep. My eyes shot open as I dashed to the bathroom. My body shuddered and heaved as I emptied the contents of my stomach into the toilet. In my fit of vomiting, my bladder gave out. Disgusted with my self, I cleaned the floor and took a hot shower.

I sighed for the nth time today under the steaming water. Hot showers were the answers for everything, it seemed. I craned my neck and closed my eyes and I just stood under the stream.

Once the water turned lukewarm, I cut it off and changed into new lounge clothes. I grabbed my phone and walked to the kitchen. I held the phone between my ear and shoulder and I dug through the fridge for something light to eat. After a few minutes of ringing, a voice came on the other end.

"Hello?" (F/n) answered. "Hey, I don't think I can come into work tomorrow. I'm pretty sure I have the flu." I said as I leaned against the kitchen count, small waves of dizziness washing over me. "Don't worry about it, I don't want you to spread anything around." There was a tone to her voice that I couldn't put my finger on. "You might should go to the doctor." (F/n) stated. Even though she couldn't see it, I shook my head. "No, I should be fine in a few days." I said, more so to myself.

Even with how tired I was, sleep didn't come easy. Finding a position that was comfortable seemed impossible. I groaned and kicked the blankets off of me. It was going to be a long night.

Morning rolled around far too soon. The heavy feeling of nausea coaxed me quickly out of bed and into the bathroom; heaving over my toilet once again. As soon as I finished my business, a knock at my door caught my attention. Weakly calling out for them to hold on as I shuffled to them. I peeked through the peep hole and saw (F/n) standing on the other side. I opened the door and held back a laugh at what she was wearing. A dust mask, rubber gloves, and a white lab coat. "Since you said you won't go to the doctor, I brought the doctor to you." I could tell she was smiling as she said that. I let out a small laugh.

She came in and walked to my kitchen, setting a grocery bag on my counter. "I brought you some stuff." I walked over and looked into the plastic bag. Among the cans of soup and box of crackers, two smaller rectangular boxes sat; pregnancy tests. I pulled one out and held it up, giving her a questioning look. "What's this?" I asked rhetorically. "Oh no.. it's worse than I thought. You apparently can't read anymore. it's a good thing I came by." She said sarcastically. I shot her a glare. She waved her hand, dismissing my glare. "It's not impossible that you could be, is it not?" She had a point. "I don't want to know how many times you have been.. intimate... But you know, it only takes once. So I think you should take this." She went on and lectured me.

"Why did you get two?" I asked before I went to the bathroom; nerves very present in my voice. "In case you didn't believe the first one." She stated calmly. I nodded and we both walked to the bathroom. I took it out of the box as (F/n) waited outside the door. After I used it, I set it on the sink to let it develop.

Now, I wait.
