(Gray POV)
I was having a hard time falling asleep. I was angry, but not at (Y/n). Angry at the fact that someone could do that to their own child. My attention was pulled away from my thoughts when she scooted closer to me, her face against my chest. I sighed slightly and wrapped my arm around her.
I heard her mumble something, but couldn't make it out. I pushed it to the back of my mind as I attempted to fall asleep.
**Next Morning- Y/n POV**
I stretched out, my arms feeling the empty spot beside me. Rolled over and opened my eyes, disappointed to not see Gray laying beside me. I began to worry, self doubt filling my thoughts. 'Maybe he is mad at me...' I pulled the covers over my head and mulled over my thoughts.
The sound of the door opening and foot steps traveled though the apartment. I perked up, not entirely sure who it was. Fear ran through my at the thought it could be my dad. He managed to get my phone number, so it wasn't an impossible thing.I mentally cursed myself for never locking my door.
I grabbed my phone, ready to dial 911, as I slowly walked out of my room. I could hear moving around in the kitchen. I took a deep breath as I peaked around the corner.
Gray was standing with his back to me. A sigh of relief left my lips. It caught his attention because he turned around and looked at me. "Oh, you're up. Good morning." I smiled, "Good morning to you too." He handed me a to-go cup of coffee and a wrapped pastry. "I went and got some coffee and food while you were sleeping. I wasn't sure what you liked, but I think that is what you ordered the last time we went."
After thanking him profusely, we moved to the couch to enjoy our breakfast. I sat with my back against the arm, coffee in my lap. I looked at him and took notice of something. "Why is your hair wet?" It wasn't dripping, but definitely damp. He lifted his hand and felt the tips of his hair. "Oh, it must be from the snow."
"Snow?"
"Yeah, it's snowing. Haven't you looked outside?"
I got up and went to the window. White flakes fell heavily from the sky in thick clusters. It had already started to stick to the ground and form a soft blanket of powder. It was falling at a fast pace, covering the town. "I haven't seen it snow like this in forever." I slightly smiled, thinking about the first year I had lived here.
After a few hours of lounging around, doing nothing together, light bulb went off in my head.
After much persuasion and jacket layering, you walked out into the soft snow with Gray. "Why did you want to come out here?" He had his hands in his pockets, looking into the grey sky. "For this." As he turned his head to me, I launched the ball of snow in my hand at him. It hit him in the upper chest, covering him in the cold powder. I doubled over laughing at my surprise attack.
I let out a squeal as he retaliated, throwing a larger snow ball back at me. The hit sent snow down my back, sending a shiver through my body. Wasting no time, I created more ammunition. As Gray did the same, I took the opportunity and pelted him with more snow. I knew I didn't stand a chance head on, so I might as well take cheap shots.
We continued on playing like children for what felt like hours. "I surrender." I said between laughs as I held my hands up. We were both covered in snow and mildly worn out. The cold air was starting to get more noticeable as the snow melted on my clothes. "Are you cold?" Gray asked. He must have seen the small shivers running through me. "Maybe a little." I said with a small laugh.
He took of the light jacked he was wearing and put it over my shoulders. I held the edges tighter around me as I looked up at him, getting lost in his eyes. He was still holding on to each side of the base of the hood. "T-thank you..." I said quietly. He starting to lean down, closing the gap between our lips. Excitement boiled in my stomach as I closed my eyes, waiting for the contact.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH" What sounded like a battle cry was yelled out before a large snow ball was hurdled at the back of Gray's head. The powdery ice crystals covered the both of us.
Loud laughter rang from Natsu's mouth as Gray turned around and glared at him. "What do you want?" He sounded annoyed as he turned and looked at the pinkette. "I came to see if you guy's were out of power too, but it looks like I interrupted something." Natsu was still snickering at his sneak attack.
"I take it you are out of power?" I questioned, drawing Natsu's attention to me. "Yeah, some lines ended collapsing from the fast snow fall." he paused and looked around. "..And based on the lack of lights in any of the buildings I am guessing you are too."
I groaned as I walked into my cold and dim apartment. The now setting sun was the only light source at the moment. My now wet clothes were clinging to me, pulling more of my body heat away from me. I hurried to my room and quickly pealed off the damp clothing.
By the time I got done changing, Gray was back in my living room. I carried a plush blanket in my arms as I sat beside him on the couch. Pulling the blanket over the both of us, I leaned against him. Turning so I was facing him, hands resting on his chest. There was an overwhelming need to be close to him. I leaned forward and he did the same.
Our lips met, this time, uninterrupted.
