Marriage Contract [ g.d ]

Chapter 8

He didn't sound as tough. He wasn't going to force me to do anything. He seems to only speak in facts. But he was trying to convince me, he was trying to make me do it.

"Y-Yes, I know-" I was cut off again.

"You should have said so from the beginning then," Grayson nodded with satisfaction, "Once you become my slave I will give you proper education in obedience."

What did he mean by that?

"You will sign this contract. I will pay you the $500,000 right now." On the table Grayson put a pen and paper. He had it ready the whole time.

Could this really be happening to me? Picking up the pen, I moved my had to sign it but my hand just froze. This is a marriage registration form. I looked up from the paper and locked eyes with Grayson.

"Would that be a problem?" He asked.

"Yes! What do you mean 'would that be a problem?!' Why would I want to marry you if I'm going to be your slave?"

He ran his fingers through his dark hair. "Slaves are illegal. Marriage is the closest thing to slavery, don't you think?"

"Are you crazy?" I was still flabbergasted.

"What? Are you refusing?" His eyes narrowed for a second before he came to a realization. "Wait a minute, that's right, you were seeing someone weren't you? But because of your debt, Poof! He's gone. Disappeared."

"How do you know that?" I asked in confusion.

"Didn't I tell you? I know everything about you. If you sign this contract, I will make all of your problems go away.  I will make sure nobody knows what I know," the next thing he said sent a shiver down my spine, "You will be mine and mine alone."

It was like a spider spinning a web around its prey.

"We only just met yesterday. Why are you so persistent?" I asked with a brow raised.

"A slave has no need for such knowledge," he informed me.

"I haven't even signed yet," I scolded.

"You will soon enough, so it's all the same," he stated.

"What do you gain from this marriage?" I asked.

"I will have a slave of course," he casually spoke.

"But why does it have to be me?" I asked yet another question.

He stood up from the sofa and walked behind me as if ready to feast on his prey and then seized my hand.
