Attention (Ardyn X Reader)

The view from the car was filling your vision, declaring the area you were at. Ardyn was by your side, staring outside the window, his eyes blank. Although you were supposed to find time to travel with him, it has mostly been one sided. His thoughts wandered, leaving it a trip for yourself. You heard the engine run and you turned to look at him.

"Next area is Lestallum." he responded, and you turned your attention back to the field.

Your feelings for him was the only thing motivating you to stay beside him. He held no interest in you during this trip, only slight worry. His car stopped, and you caught notice of the people he stared at. There was a group of four - a blond, muscular, glasses wearing with spiky hair and the person in the middle, a raven haired with locks of hair falling at the side of his face. A slight smirk appeared on Ardyn's face as he exited the car to approach the group. You watched as they chat, the atmosphere being far from friendly. Staying in the car, you turned away and tried to distract yourself. He returned shortly, an accomplished look on his face. You smiled slightly at this, as he drove the car and the Regalia following.

The trip soon led to a train station, You stood at the corner, beside Ardyn as he observed the group. From looking at the train, you could tell the events that would happen. He remained focus, ignoring your presence.

Everyone boarded the train, all that's left was to set the plan in motion. You set up your part and left Ardyn to do his, resulting in him standing on the roof of the train. The sounds from their argument travelled to your ears. All you wished for was a normal trip with Ardyn yet, this occurred. Faint sound of screams as the familiar blond dropped. You hastily grab Prompto and escaped with him, leaving Ardyn.

"Should I let him go?" the murmur left your lips. The blond was unconscious and you simply watched him. "But..."

Ardyn appeared before you with a smile. His face clearly stating that he was satisfied with the result. Somehow, you felt guilt prick you. "Ardyn..."

He hummed, picking Prompto up, "Yes, (Y/N)?"

"This is not right..." you mumbled, before raising your voice. "I'm so sick of this! It was meant to be a trip about us... Yet,all you cared about was Noctis! Everything was about Noctis! I can't take it!"

His face faltered slightly but reverted. "Have fun on your own then."

You watched as he left, unsure to chase him or remain ground. Reaching your hand out, you attempted to stop him but halted. Turning on your heel, you left the opposite direction of him. Heading on your own.

A few hours passed, Ardyn moved around the area, looking for the familiar person. "(Y/N)? Are you here?"

He continued walking, calling out your name but stopped. "Don't tell me, she really left?"

A few years, passed, your appearance still the same. The only difference was the world that you currently resided in. You saw flashes of light, signifying the different colours and the colour purple immediately catching your interest. Your legs rushed towards the light, and your intuition remained correct. His movement catching your eye, and his on you. The battle stopped, as he moved towards you.

"(Y/N)? (Y/N)!" he rushed towards you, enveloping you in a warm hug,

The dried tears that lasted over the years finally stained your cheeks, your lips forming a smile as you clutched on him. "Ardyn..."

"I'm sorry for leaving you...I regretted it.Please stay with me..."

You smiled, hugging him tighter before separating. Your arms remained around him, slightly loosely, letting him gaze into your (E/C) eyes. His lips returned your smile, as he dipped his head in, and you smiled broadly.Feeling his lips brush against yours. In a soft, sweet kiss. "Don't leave me, (Y/N)."

"I won't." It was a promise that you mean kept, as yours arms remained around him.

Extra
"By the way Ardyn, did you bathe? There's a smell coming from you..." your face held a serious expression, emphasizing your tone.

He leaned down, sniffing his body. "I think I smell fine...?"

You shake your head, trying to control the laughter that was escaping your throat. Ardyn seemed to catch sight of this, as he placed his body further on you. "I smell nice..."

Your laughter escaped, as he tickled you while rubbing his shirt against you. The both of you burst out laughing, as it was a time that was greatly missed.
