Attraction

You ran around the area, looking for the familiar fur. There were certain times that you would notice the dog walking around the area, possibly searching for his owner as he sniffed the ground with each step he made. You could recognize the dog by its colour and unique collar. Although it piqued your interest, you simply watched it from afar. However, things were different as you found yourself chasing after the dog. You could not find the reason why you chased after it but you stopped worrying about it and continued searching for it. After following a road which led to the a dead end, you sighed and turned away. As you were walking back, your ears picked up on the sound of a dog barking. Instantly, your body turned as your legs increased the walking speed. Walking towards the sound of the dog.

"Good job Umbra! You did well, here your reward for the day."

Standing behind the wall, your eyes trailed from the owner to the dog in front of him. Without much thought in your actions, you walked towards the owner and asked, "Is that your dog?"

From his eyes, you could tell he was shocked as he nodded. Bending down, to be on eye level with the dog you chased. You cautiously tried to pat him. When he did not reject your touch, you felt his soft fur as you ruffled it with your fingers. The owner completely ignored as your attention was more focused on the pet in front of you. After a while, you finally spoke again. "Sorry... I couldn't control myself. I'm (Y/N). You are?"

"Noctis." the raven haired replied with a smile. "So, (Y/N), how do you know Umbra?"

You stood up and noticed that his height was slightly taller than you. "Well... at the place I work, whenever I peeked at the corner I would notice him walking on his own. And I was interested in him."

Noctis seemed to stifle a laugh at the honest answer you provided. "I usually train him, making him able to find me as I changed the location each time."

"Oh... For what purpose though?" you asked him, still scanning his body figure and estimating his strength.

He faced Umbra and gave a slight ruffle to its head. "I don't really know, maybe it might be useful in the future?"

His voice trailed off and you just stood there, staring at Umbra. Until you heard his voice, "If you want to see Umbra that much, why don't you just visit me or come with me as I train him?"

Your eyes sparkled at the offer, as it allowed you more time with Umbra. "Are you sure? Is it really okay?"

He nodded and wrote on a piece of paper before handing it to you. "Use this to contact me and that's my house address. Visit me anytime you want!"

That was his words as he left, bringing Umbra with him. You blushed slightly as you realize that you gained the contact information of a man without knowing. Staring at the piece of paper, you folded it neatly before tucking it into your pockets and heading to the area you were originally from. Noticing that your break would be over soon.

"Maybe visiting now would be too soon," you stared at the paper. Only one day passed and you were on your way to visit him. Mostly, you looked forward to seeing Umbra the most. When you reached the entrance, you double checked your map and after checking for the fifth time, you dialed the number on the paper. "Hello? Noctis? Is this really your house?"

You could hear him laugh as he answered, "Yes, give me a minute. I will pick you up."

One thought alone passing through your mind. 'Noctis is a prince?'

"Hey! (Y/N)," you stared at the Prince, baffled at the mere thought of it. "Don't you want to see Umbra?"

Your train of thought immediately switched and you ran towards him. "Where is he?"

Umbra noticed your presence as you towards him. Giving him a hug, as you patted him. For the past hour, you were completely immersed in playing with Umbra. When you saw Noctis sitting on the grass with a smile on his face. "Done playing?"

You could feel your sweat as it caused your t-shirt to cling against your body. "Yeah. I need to rest first."

"I'm surprised."

"About?" you asked as you laid your back on the patch of grass.

His answered causing you to sit back up with a jolt. "You really came here just to see Umbra."

"Of course I did. Who else would I want to see?"

Noctis laughed as he stared into your (E/C) orbs. "Who knows? Maybe you will find out soon enough." Although he was smiling, you could see the hint of playfulness behind it.

You were left confused as he stood up, pulling you together with him as Umbra followed behind the both of you. Leaving you no time to think about his reply, making you laugh lightly as you ran after him. There would still be more chances for you to think about it.
