Noctis was a mere distance away, his eyes trained on her figure. A smile formed on your lips as various others returned it. "Enjoying the party?" Ignis leaned against the wall alongside you, as his smile never faded. The smile necessary for this parties. "Not really. I'm ready to leave at any moment." He laughed at the words, catching sight of the raven haired.

"Probably should stop staring you know, it's going to hurt even more." You turned to face him, a bitter smile spreading on your face. "It's a bit too late." A song came on, instantly the couples walking to the dance floor. Even with the loud sound of classical music, only one song seemed to run through your mind.

His smile brightened as her hand was clasped in his, both of them heading towards the dance floor. "Hey, (Y/N)! Do you want to dance?" The blond had his familiar cheerful smile and you could only smile faintly as the alcohol that you consumed reached your cheeks. "Sorry, Prompto, could you hide me?" He gave a worried look towards Ignis but the look was casted away. Your head on his shoulder, the adrenaline rushing straight to your brain.

Underneath it all I'm held captive by the hole inside

"Please don't let him see me. I'm sorry Prompto..." Your words faded as you tried to hold back the tears willing to spill. The carelessness of thinking that the alcohol was weak only seemed to fade as his smiling face with hers simply remained.

The blond simply gave a reassuring pat on your shoulder before he whispered to Ignis. You felt him loop an arm around you, and your legs followed subconsciously. "If you can't face it yet, just run away. The cold air will be your best friend." Your eyes opened to the sight of the night sky, as the cold wind helped to sober you slightly. "I wonder, what's the fastest way to lose feelings for someone?" The cold air was silent before you heard his reply.

"There isn't. Just let time take its toll on you, soon it will feel like a distant memory. And soon, your heart will be able to love again. Someone else that you deserve." His cheeky smile suiting the situation. A laugh escaped your throat as you agreed with him. "I guess, I just need to wait. After all, soon they would get married. And, I will be their best friend." You looked over to his blue eyes and smiled as it held the feelings he wished to convey.

I'm ready to forgive you but forgetting is a harder fight

His smile seemed to lighten the mood as you loudly stated, "Time to find a new guy!" The blond could only laugh as he raised a hand, "Let's go!" You joined his laughter, determined to find someone that wouldn't break your heart as Noctis did.
