Thomas stepped away from Alex, his back ramming harshly into the hallway's wall, biting his lip as he felt the sting in his shoulders as they collided. What would he say, would Alex think they were trying to..?

Alex began to stutter, first just sounds that were muffled and unclear but then came words, "Not.. girl.. why.. is he..?" He paused his handing shaking as he raised it and pointed it towards Jefferson, clearing his throat he tried not to yell, "Why is he here?"

"He and I, uh, walked home from the party, together," John stuttered at almost a loss for words.

"Then why is he far from his dorm?" Alex asked, it was true they had already passed Thomas's dorm.

"He wanted to walk me to the door," John paused, "cause, him and I-"

Thomas cut him off, "Were in a heated argument," Thomas glared at John knowing Alex would be upset over them being friends.

"No. Thomas walked me to the door, because we are, friends," John smiled slightly looking at Jefferson, to ignore Alexander.

Alexanders face turned red, he boiled with anger, "Is that why you go out to these parties randomly after already telling me you didn't find one? Does he tell you about them? You know how much pain Jefferson has caused me in the past, don't you? I've cried to you. You're my best friend I thought you would know better than this, Laurens." That last word stung, it wasn't like Alex never called John by his last name but the way he said it, with disgust, like he never wanted to say the word, like it was the foul language your mother screamed at you when she caught you sneaking out.

"I should go," Jefferson turned before John grabbed his hand his grip firm, his eyes watery.

"Not without me," John spoke softly.

  "Excuse me?" Alex snapped.

"You clearly need time, I'll just go," John stated looking at the ground.

"Fine," Alex stated walking back into the dorm slamming the door behind him.

John let tears begin to roll down his cheeks, he felt as his legs started to give in, Jefferson hushed him. Thomas picked up John, so that's his legs were dangling over one arm and he was propping up his bag with the other, "You can stay for as long as you watch John."

"Thank you," John spoke softly, now crying into Thomas' chest.

Thomas arrived back to his dorm, sliding in the key before placing John onto his bed. James Madison, Thomas roommate, and potential love interest, was in the bathroom, judging by the fact the door was closed and the light was on.

"John you stay here, I'm going to go explain to James what's happening, alright? You can make yourself comfortable, even get in my bed if you'd like, there's some tissues on the nightstand right there if you need," Thomas waited until John nodded, so that he could go talk to James. Making his way to the bathroom he knocked lightly on the door.

  "Come in," James spoke.

"Is it alright if John stays with us for a night or three? Alright! Thanks," Thomas rushed.

"Of course, but what? Why? What is happening?" James asked.

"Well, Jemmy, you see, Alex found out that John and I were friends and he screamed at John and like Alex went on a date with a girl while we were out and John and I left the party early so that he could explain to Alex he had feelings for him, and Jemmy he really has proven to be my friend, and he's heartbroken," Thomas said his voice cracking slightly towards the end.

"That's, awful, alright, but you have to figure out sleeping arrangements, no one sleeps in my bed, except me though, understood?"

"Understood."
