"Hey," Jake says when they come into view. I jog over and give him a quick hug. I keep walking with them, being careful to stay in between Jake and Embry.
I don't listen to much of what they say until I hear Jake say, "Dude, you really don't want to start compairing stinks." I swallow a laugh that was about to come up.
"What he means is that your scent will mask ours if you carry us," Bella says.
"Done," Jake says.
"This is not a good idea," Edward says. I roll my eyes.
"Edward, they won't want to get anywhere near their... odor," Jasper says. This time it's Embry who rolls his eyes.
"Okay, let's just try it," Bella says taking a step toward Jake. Embry sweeps my feet out from underneath me.
"Ode to wolf, coming up," Jake says. I scoff.
"Run," Edward says, and Embry and Jake take of running. Once they get far enough into the tree line that Edward and Jasper can't see them, they slow down to a walking pace. They walk right next to each other.
I don't listen to Bella and Jacob's conversation, I think it was something about Jake letting Sam be alpha, but I'm not sure. I lay my head on Embrys chest, and just listen to his heartbeat.
"Why do you have to be so cute?" Embry's voice sounds after a minute or two.
"Because I'm just that awesome!" I reply.
"Maybe..," he trails off.
"Will you promise me something?" I ask.
"Anything, what is it?" he asks.
"Will you promise me that you won't get hurt?" I ask.
"I promise," he says.
"Are you gunna ask me to sit out of the fight too, or don't you care about my safety?" Jakes voice sounds.
Before Bella could say anything, I say, "You being your suborn self, would say no, and plus, Sam would let you, only Seth."
"How did you?" he asks.
"There is such a thing called being imprinted on, I have connections, I know everything!" I say jokingly.
He drops Bella's legs for a split second to ruffle my hair and say, "Whatever!" I quickly fix my side bangs, that were now all over the place. Embry and I are listening to Bella and Jake's convrsation. It's quite interesting.
I really hope this works.
"Bella, that is Jacobs new name from now on! Chief Jacob!" I say getting excited.
"I second that," Bella says.
"I agree," Embry mumbles.
"Shut up, all of you!" Jacob groans.
"Fine, no more hugs for Chief Jacob then!" I say.
"Really? Not cool!" he says.
"Your fault! You told us to shut up!" I say.
"Did not! I blame it on the whole inner animal!" he says.
"Sure you do..," I say. He huffs and gives up.
"You've always been really good at arguing," Bella says.
"Are you saying that after I graduate, I should do to law school? Oh hell no!" I say. Bella laughs.
"How come I was lucky enough to get you?" Embry asks.
"What's that suppose to mean?" I say faking being pissed off.
"I was asking how I was lucky to have imprinted on you," Embry says.
