Jake's Mad

Jake, Seth, and Embry are sitting on a log watching the ocean, while some of the pack plays soccer, and the ones that aren't are with their imprints.

I walk up behind them, and sit in between Seth and Embry. I lace our fingers together, and lean my head on his shoulder.

Out of the blue, Jake says, "Maybe they'll say she was in a car crash. Or tripped and fell off a cliff. At least I'll get one thing out of it."

He means killing Edward. He is talking about Bella and Edward having a real honeymoon while Bella is still human.

"No, you won't. The Cullen's are not a danger to the town or the tribe," Sam says.

"Well he's either going kill her, or change her," Jake says, "And the treaty says-"

"I say, Jacob, I say," Sam says before walking away.

"You know, if you wanted things different, you should've become alpha," Embry says.

"Turning it down seemed like a good idea at the time," Jake says.

"Jake, you really think you'll kill Bella if she comes back a vampire?" Seth asks.

"No, he'll make one of us do it, them hold a grudge against us," Leah says as she sits down. I didn't even notice that she walked over.

"Oh shut up Leah," Jake says.

"Will you get over it? It's not like you imprinted on her!" Leah says, putting emphasis on imprint. Jake looks over at the rest of the pack and their imprints.

"At least they seem happy," Seth says.

"Yeah, some people are just lucky I guess," Embry says. I elbow him hard. "Sorry!" I smile and kiss him.

"Lucky? None of them belong to themselves anymore. And the sickest part is, their genes tell them they're happy about it," Jake says. I kick him in the shin.

"Hey!" I say.

"Sorry, you two are the only normal imprints!" Jake says.

"We could just get up and go over there if you'd like, it's not that hard," I say.

"No, it's fine," Jake mumbles.

"Good, you're lucky we still hang out with you! We could've ditched you a long time ago, like the others," Embry says.

"At least if you imprinted on someone, you'd finally forget about Bella," Leah says to Jake, "I mean, being any kind of happy is better than being miserable about someone you can't have."

"I'll be right back," I say. My phone rang, and I got up and answered it.

"Shelby?" Bella's voice sounds from the other end. She sounds worried, and sick.

"Bella? Are you okay?" I ask. Jake heard me say Bella's name, and is now listening to our conversation.

"I need your help, will you come over?" she asks.

"To the Cullen's?" I ask.

"Yeah, hurry. Please?" she asks.

"I'll right over," I say.

I shove my phone into my pocket, and sprint for the woods. I hear Jake sprint across the rocky beach, knowing exactly where I'm headed. He starts up his bike. I strip my clothes, and tie them to my leg. I phase, and run as fast as I can to the Cullen's.
