Zero could vividly remember how he spent his childhood days especially Saturdays. It was the day his favorite TV show would air, The Adventures of Heroes, thinking about it now the name wasn't the best but it was what made him want to become an Anubis officer.

How cool it would be! He remembered thinking and the fact that there were actual heroes alive in the world that was selflessly putting their lives on the line for the good of humanity inspired him. It was something though that also scared him as a child because where there were heroes there would also be villains; petty wielders that were looking for the easy way out.

There would always be evil in the world.

Zero had decided early in his life that he wouldn't be one to put his abilities to waste.

Thoughts rattled and bounced off the walls in Zero's mind it had only been twenty minutes since Damian left and in that time Carter and S had poured themselves drinks and were currently shooting ideas off at each other.

Stein was reclined in his chair, his jacket hanging on the back of it. He was deep in thought mulling over everything he had heard running possible explanations over in his head. There was something about this whole ordeal that was familiar but he couldn't quite put his finger on what. It was one of the downsides of being alive for centuries so much had happened that you couldn't possibly remember every single detail that occurred three or four centuries ago. Stein was too immersed in his thought to care about what his wielders were doing.

Brushing his hand through his hair Kal sighed. Carter and S were practically on the verge of an argument, so much for the top Anubis wielder team out there. As far as he was concerned the team was a bunch of misfits with powers beyond their general knowledge and the leader of this team, Zero, was a kid himself.

How old is this kid again...twenty-one? Twenty-three? Whatever it was he could never fully understand why Stein had chose him for the role; sure he was the top of his class at the academy and even he had to admit the kid had some skill but he didn't have enough experience to constitute as team leader.

Zero could feel Kal's gaze on him from the other end of the table and couldn't help the eye roll that followed after he glanced at the man with midnight black hair. Here we go, he thought. His role of team leader always felt like he was holding the world on his shoulders whenever Kal was around. He always felt like he needed to be twice no four times the person he usually was to get some sort of recognition from the man...

Rolling the sleeves of his dress shirt to his elbows Zero's eyes couldn't help but trace the pattern of the mark on his left hand. It was a mark like a tattoo that was burned into his skin the day he had sworn allegiance to Anubis, every Anubis wielder had one. It was different for every person and never in the same place Carter for example had his on his face it started from the middle of his forehead and made a crescent moon that stopped above his left cheek bone. Carter usually had it covered up whenever he went out on unofficial Anubis business.

Zero's took up the entirety of his left arm and stopped in a spiral over his heart. The lines of his mark were sharp and boldly outlined in black. He liked the shape and patterns it made circling and clearly defining his arm. It was something that he was proud to have.

"So this Devil Wielder got his hands on some new tech unknown to us?" Carter's voice was bordering on anger as Liv took his glass of bourbon away.

"New tech, what are you even saying right now?" S rolled his eyes pushing the lock of his dreads that he always had falling in his face behind his ear, "You think tech can do this? I sure as hell don't."
