Marcel had woken up after having his neck snapped in the middle of the night to find Klaus and his new pack had gone even James and Katherine were nowhere to be found leaving the place with a very faint smell of blood but when focused on it became potent as if it was mixture of different blood types, Marcel could tell from this that the blood vow had been undertaken which granted Klaus the leadership he always wanted over the werewolves yet Marcel was curious of the plants he saw James adding to the blood. This thought was soon overshadowed as Marcel got to his feet and remembered why he was here, to kill this new pack in order to bring Klaus to his knees and finally show him who the real king of New Orleans is.

With this plan in mind Marcel traveled to meet up with the vampires he had been turning even going so far to seek help from the sire lines hoping he could gather enough allies to overpower Klaus and his new pack while back at The Abattoir Klaus had called a meeting between him and the alphas in order to have them turned into his own hybrid generals and having them set up a perimeter around The Abattoir to make his dream fortress finally giving Klaus what he had always wanted, a way to protect Hope and keep her innocence in order live a better life.

As the following weeks passed as Marcel built up vampire army, planning carefully, plans that were overheard by one of Klaus's who reported back to him in the dining room of The Abattoir only to be dismissed by Hayley who after returning from her honeymoon and discovered what had happened, was arguing with Klaus "How could you, the pack meant everything to me, they were my family!" Hayley yelled pacing back and forth while Klaus sat contempt at the head of the table " They still are your family,  a family sworn to protect our daughter, it just has a new leader" Klaus replied as Elijah stepped forward from behind Hayley " I know your need to protect Hope but to this end, you know what it meant to Hayley and you still went against her wishes, how could you do this brother?" Klaus was now clearly unhappy with Elijah's statement, causing him to move focus from Hayley to Elijah " Dear Elijah has your time away made you forget what I'm capable of, I had to do it but how dare you think your marriage gives you right to side against me especially since we both know that pack was her way of holding onto Jackson she would never love you otherwise" Klaus said angrily " You're right the pack reminded me of Jackson but it isn't a crime to hold onto past loved ones especially if they die but I still love Elijah it's why I'm married to him not for him but for me, I love him no one else just him" Hayley took Elijah's hand as she said that, cuddling his arm " That may be the case but what's done is done I had James alter the blood vow to make the pack unwaveringly loyal to me so they'll do exactly as I tell them to  which is protecting my daughter at any cost" the argument would have gone on further but they were interrupted by the same werewolf who had overheard Marcel's plans and now told them of how Marcel was about to enact his plan "So it's a war he wants" Klaus smiled after hearing this and went off to find and inform his alphas of what was going to happen.

The day finally came with the afternoon streets of the French Quarter being silent and abandoned this allowed for the perfect fight setting and it wasn't long before Marcel arrived filling the streets with all the vampires that despised Klaus, covering the entirety of street behind Marcel and also watching from rooftops, this mob was greeted by Klaus who at the time stood alone looking around at all the vampires present "When I heard you had I plan to bring me to my knees I expected a challenge but you disappoint me, Marcellus" Klaus looked at the mob than to Marcel with a smile " Don't I at least get a point for learning from last time, I not only brought my vampires but also those from the sire lines both ancient and new, who would wish nothing better than to see you forced to your knees" Marcel stepped from the crowd and approached Klaus " And they can't do we both know I'd have no problem doing it myself" Marcel added cockily with a big grin " Poor Marcellus, I thought I raised you to always know your enemy and it seems you know nothing of me, I'm not just some hybrid who'll be defeated easily I'm the original hybrid and I won't go down without a fight, but since you want to make a show of it I've brought my own audience to join us as well" as Klaus said this his pack arrived covering his half of the street "Since everyone is here we can finally begin" both vampires and werewolves charged at each while Klaus and Marcel fought at the centre of it all.

Despite Klaus's pack being slightly smaller than Marcel's army it was bolstered by the Mikaelsons, Caroline, Kai and Katherine with aside the werewolves were performing better than usual, they held their own against even multiple vampires thanks to the enhancements they had gained in the pack merge and more could be said for Klaus who, after both his Alpha crowning and the rebirth James gave him, was overpowering Marcel by being faster and stronger which is what drew the attention of the ancient vampires who outmatched the werewolves leading them to instead join Marcel in order to overwhelm Klaus. Marcel used the distractions the vampires caused to seek other Mikaelsons hoping to fare better against them and gain leverage but they evenly matched him causing the fight to go on hours through the evening into the late hours of the night to the point in which James' banshees arrived to end everything but the pure rage of each side meant their focus left them too distracted to be pulled out of it causing James himself to arrive releasing a banshee screen of his own, not only did it snap everyone out of it but they all collapse in pain leaving only the Mikaelsons, Caroline, Kai, Katherine and Marcel who at the time was holding Caroline but not wanting things to end this way he bit her, filling her with his venom before dropping her to the floor and trying to leave only to be stopped by Kol who used magic to break his bones " When you've lived as long as I have you become patient which is what I've been with you" James was calm as usual as he walked over to Marcel " I came here seeking to help stop the threat that was Inadu but when I found you, children, fighting like babies I couldn't help but occasionally use my psychic powers to make you get along and since you've proven yourself to stubborn I have to take you out of the equation" Kol let off Marcel allowing him to stand before James " I sentence you to live a life of fear and weakness then maybe you'll learn" James then pulled out Marcel's heart and watched him fall to the floor, waking up in the psychiatric ward of a high-security prison and with Marcel trapped in a new body James dropped his heart, pulled a handkerchief from his pocket to clean himself up and left with Kai, Katherine and his banshees while Klaus rushed to Caroline to save her knowing his enhanced blood would heal her and as she drank it to heal she said one thing before passing out "I think it's time we talked".
