A Pack Reborn

Klaus and Kai had been talking over the weeks about Klaus' many years of chaos and power grabs, beyond the return of Davina and Kol's honeymoon with Klaus seeing himself in Kai and so choosing to have him come along on his pack round up, sort of like apprentice training in order to see if Kai could really be trusted and so Klaus released Kai but was interrupted on the way out by Rebekah "Going somewhere Nik" she stood at the top of the stairs overlooking the courtyard in her standard attire of heels, trousers and a pink shirt "Just rounding up some friends of mine making sure they all made it into town in one piece, why do you ask?" Kai stood at the entrance of the courtyard ready to leave watching the two discuss things "No particular reason just wondering what made you decide to bring James' sociopathic puppy along with you especially after how he attacked Elijah and Hayley then tried to bring violence in front of Hope" Rebekah stared down to Kai occasionally looking at Klaus when they spoke "Think of it as a trust exercise, if he passes he'll make a perfect apprentice and if not I'll get to play jump rope with his intestines" this ended the conversation allowing Kai and Klaus to head to the Bayou.

Upon arriving in the Bayou Klaus and Kai wondered through the woods looking for the werewolves "So what's your big plan, round up a bunch of werewolves, I'm sure the great Klaus the hybrid Mikaelson couldn't possibly need them although I've always wanted a werewolf army..." Kai was cut-off as Klaus spoke "They're not just any pack of werewolves the werewolf we're looking for is the last known survivor of my pack and once I've found him I'll round up other packs and make them mine and once I've rounded them up I'll have them merge with Hayley's and take her place as King because only I can lead the wolves in protecting Hope" Klaus said proudly as he looked around "As noble as that sounds don't you need some sort of badass elder werewolf to make you King and if rumours are right you're not exactly very popular with any of them right now which means you can't do any of that but it'd be cool to watch" Kai kept a cheerful smile as he followed close behind Klaus "You're forgetting someone who still stands by my side and if he says he is who he is then they'll have to go through with it" Klaus suddenly stopped sensing they were close by "Who James, yeah he's your man he's like a super badass Elder and I'm sure he'd have no problem doing it" Kai was soon shushed as Klaus spotted the werewolf albeit it a small and weak looking man waiting around nervously.

Klaus emerged from the trees, grinning as his plan began to fall into action, with Kai behind "I'm guessing you're Cary the last member of the North Atlantic Pack or at least one of the last" Klaus approached Cary embracingly with his grin still present "A-and you must be Klaus Mikaelson we met briefly but is it true what you said your Ansel's son" Cary was extremely nervous making very little eye contact with either of them "Yep the heir to the pack or least what's left of it but soon it shall rise once more to be a pack worthy of my leadership" "And I'm Kai, I'm just here for the ride" Kai interrupted, holding out his hand with a smile only for Klaus to push it away "Ignore him, he's just the help" Klaus gave Kai stern look only to see him on his phone playing games "We shall have a lot of searching to do but once the seven original bloodlines fall into place the rest of the independent packs will follow and then they'll all see me as they're rightful Alpha, speaking of which what happened to the pack you had" Klaus had been looking out into the distance as he laid out his plan but turned his attention back to Cary "K-Killed one by one by hunters working for Lucien Castle and through infighting of how we'd handle the hunters, leaving just me" Cary had begun to make more eye contact with Klaus speaking with more confidence "Well I guess you'll be the first alpha I recruit, hopefully, the others will be happy to follow suit"

Klaus, Kai and Cary spent the next few weeks hunting down packs starting with The Appalachian Pack, a pack Klaus had been introduced to by Hayley and so he was welcomed happily as a friend, happiness that didn't last as Klaus proposed the pack merge but after convincing them that this would be the best thing to help them survive another Lucien type onslaught they chose to join planning to have Cary lead them to the meeting place of where the merge ritual would take place. Klaus repeated the same speech to the Deep Water, Poldark, BasRoq, Paxon and Barry Packs and for the alphas not easily convinced he happily name dropped Marcel as someone trying to take up Lucien's work and had the power to do so which quickly adding them to his pack, seeing it best to side with an original then have him as a future enemy then, despite Kai's idea to just compel them all, Klaus sort out independent packs that had caught his eye before returning to New Orleans and inviting Keelin to join the pack in order to let the Malraux pack have a chance of returning. With Keelin being the final pack Klaus required, he had James perform the ritual while Kai created moonlight rings for everyone and as a favour to Freya Klaus named the new pack The Atlantic Malraux pack, a pack that Klaus now spent months forging trust and loyalty, in order to create the perfect army to protect Hope and once The Crescents joined it'd be the perfect pack for his hybrids but before he could take The Crescents from Hayley he had to deal with Elijah's marriage to Hayley.
