-Ian's POV-
*Thursday*I pull up in front of Fiona's house and park my car. I haven't been able to come here as often lately. When I'm not working I'm usually too tired to try and deal with whatever is going on here. And there's often something going on.
I get out of the car and walk up to the front door. Instead of knocking I just walk straight in. I'm greeted right away by Liam who hugs my leg. I bend down and give him a tight hug and a rub on his head. I look up to see Debbie poke her head out from the kitchen.
"Ian's home!!" She yells with a smile on her face. I walk over to the kitchen and give her a hug.
"It smells good, what's for dinner?" I ask, peering over her shoulder at the stove, where noodles are boiling.
"I'm just making some spaghetti. I thought it'd be nice to do because you and Fiona actually have off tonight." She says with a shrug. I squeeze her shoulder and walk over to the kitchen table where Franny sits in her high chair.
"Who's the cutest little baby ever?" I say, rubbing her nose with mine. She giggles and touches her tiny hand to my cheek. She's really starting to look like Debbie with her red hair growing in. It's too bad her father is a dead beat.
"Hey bro." Lip says from behind me causing me to turn around. He pulls me into a half hug, patting my back. I stare back at him confused.
"What are you doing here? I thought you were in England with your professor?" I ask.
"Nah, it got boring. Decided it wasn't my thing." He says shrugging his shoulders. I watch him intensely. I can't believe I didn't know he was home. He went there on a scholarship and he's messed it all up for who knows why. The last time I saw him he looked good, but now he just looks a mess.
"Lip, what do you mean? You were so excited? What happened? Why didn't you call?" I ask, stepping towards him. He stares at me for a second and then his face changes to anguish.
"You wanna know why I didn't call? Because I didn't want to interrupt your busy life. Your perfect little life away from all this bullshit Ian. You know what? Fuck off." He says, pointing his finger at my chest. He stares at me for a few seconds before stomping back upstairs.
I sit down dumbfounded, staring at the table for a couple minutes when I feel my phone buzz in my pocket. I look at the screen to see that it's Sam, probably calling about camping tomorrow.
"Hello?" I ask, picking it up.
"Hey Ian, its Vanessa. Um, I really hate to do this but Sam and I can't meet you guys camping tomorrow. We went out for Chinese food last night and Sam has been puking all day. I don't think he's gonna feel well enough tomorrow. He feels really bad." She says in a hushed tone.
"Damn that really sucks. Well, hopefully we can meet up another time then soon. I hope he gets better." I respond, trying to hide my anger.
"Yeah of course! Talk to you soon, bye." She says and then hangs up.
"Fuck!" I say, slamming my hand on the table. Franny immediately starts to cry and Debbie rushes over, a look of anguish across her face.
"What the hell Ian?" She asks, picking Franny up, trying to sooth her.
"I'm sorry." I say letting out a deep breath trying to calm myself.
