Caught Up In This Love

Chapter 28

Mia POV
Its nearly 3am and I can't fall asleep. I've been shifting all around in my bed hoping to find the perfect sleeping position. "Ugh" I let out a small groan. I decided to go downstairs and watch the show I've been currently binge watching. As I made my way downstairs I heard the door that led to the backyards open. Crap.

I looked over the rail to see who it was. It was my mum and Uncle Leo.  It seemed like they were at the pool, because my mum had a towel wrapped around her. Suddenly my eyes locked with hers. "Mia, aren't you suppose to be asleep?" My mum questioned. "Uh yeah, I can't fall asleep tho" I explained.

"We couldn't either" my mum added as she pointed at Uncle Leo who had made his way to the couch. I went down stairs and I joined him and snuggled onto his side. I love Uncle Leo as if he were my dad. He's always been there for me since I was born. Like always, even until this day.

Leo POV
As me and Mia watched TV, Kate went upstairs change out of her swim clothes. There was just silence in the room. "I.. love you da--" Mia softly mumbled under her breath. "...dad." Mia softly added as she looked up at me teary-eyed. I hugged her tight as she began to sob.

I was confused. "I'm sorry.. I just see you as a father to me, as you know... my.. dad left me and my ..mum when I was just a child.." Mia said in between sobs. "And you've always.. been there for me.. I love you" Mia added. "I love you too kiddo, and don't worry.. you. An call me dad whenever you'd like" I responded. She just smiled.

Kate POV
As I went upstairs to change into my pj's, I took off the engagement ring Leo gave me a while back. It's the first time I've taken it off since Leo placed it on my finger. I set it down on my vanity as I wrapped my hair in a pony tail. I took one glimpse at it and I noticed something inside the silver band.

It looked like some sort of inscription. I brought it closer to my eyes and began to read it.

'It will always be us, always'

I placed my hand on my heart in awe. Oh I love Leo so much. He's so good to me in every way possible. And not only to me but to Mia, Joe and Bear. What did I do to deserve such an amazing person that loves me like there's no tomorrow?

Mia POV
Me and Uncle Leo have been watching Rick and Morty for the past hour. The new season was released not very long ago so I've been hooked. For the first time in forever I had the opportunity to call somebody 'dad'. I never refer to my biological father as 'dad'. I call him by his real name, Jim.

My mum is fine with it. I never got to know him, I do spend a few weekends with him but it's not the same. I consistently feel as if he's a stranger to me, it's very awkward and I absolutely hate the idea of being with him. My mum recently gave me the option to go to his place whenever I'd like, in which I love.

Joe gets along fairly well with his dad, in which I'm sort of jealous about. Bear, he's a toddler he won't see his dad in so long. Poor Bear. But he'd grow up along Uncle Leo, which is the best possible option.

Kate POV
I went downstairs to find Leo and Mia snuggled together watching TV. Mia got up and made her way into her room as I walked down stairs. Her eyes seemed puffy, but I  didn't ask why. If she wanted me to know, then she would've let me know. I sat down next to Leo and held his hand firmly.

"So I finally read the inscription in the engagement ring you gave me in Paris" I told Leo as I looked up to see him. "Did it really take you that long?" Leo whined. "I haven't taken it off since it was placed on my finger, silly" I teased. "Welp, did you like it?" Leo asked with a grin on his face. "Of course babe, I love it!" I claimed as I placed a kiss on his cheek.

A/N:
this chapter is rather short.. I haven't found much time in the day to write. I've been so busy preparing for school and what not. But don't think I'm gonna abandon this story. I won't ! So I might not be posting very often but I will continue to write :) hope you hush understand <3
