Chapter 23

Kate POV
It's the next morning and I woke up with the same tension in my lower stomach. At least now I knew what it was. I placed my hands on my stomach and flashed a smile. I never really thought I'd be having another child, never thought it'd be Leo's child. It was fairly early in the morning so I decided to make breakfast before Mia woke up.

As I made my way down the stairs, I heard movement downstairs. "Hello?" I questioned. "Mum you're awake!" Mia shouted from the kitchen. "What are you doing up so early sweetheart" I said as I approached Mia who had made pancakes for the both of us. "Well, I just felt the need to help, now that you have to start taking care of yourself and the little human inside of you!" Mia said as she began setting the table.

"Well I can still do things around the house Mia! I'm not that useless!" I joked. Mia playfully rolled her eyes and gestured me to sit down. We ate together and talked together. "So was Uncle Leo happy with the news?" Mia asked as she sipped her tea. "Oh Mia yes he was, poor thing.. he was so moved he began to cry" I gushed. Mia smiled. "Well he sure wanted to be a dad, didn't he?" Mia said as she payed her attention back to her food. "Yes.. he really did! And now he will become a father sooner than expected" I replied placing my hand on my stomach once again.

Leo POV
I couldn't sleep last night due to the excitement. Becoming a father was really something I wanted to achieve, but I never really thought I would come close to becoming one. I feel bad that I won't be able to be with Kate in the beginning stages of her pregnancy.

I start filming again in a week. I'm really looking forward to it. We already filmed the first part of it before summer. Now we have to finish.

I picked up my phone to call my mom, to let her know about the news. I think she'll be very happy, especially with Kate being the mother of my future child. She absolutely loves Kate. She's remained very kind to her since the first time I brought her to the house for her to meet her, which was after we filmed Titanic. After a few seconds of waiting, she finally picked up.

Leo: "Hello mom"

Irmelin: "Oh hello Leo! Are you back home yet ?"

Leo: "I actually got back last evening!"

Irmelin: "I finally get to see you after all this time"

Leo: "I know mom, it excites me that I'll see you again soon, see I wanted to tell you someth--"

Irmelin: "Actually Leo I will be over in just a few minutes, if you don't mind"

Leo: "Uh okay mom.. yes I don't mind."

Irmelin: "Okay love, I will be on my way"

Leo: "Okay bye mom.. "

Well my mom's coming over. At least I get to tell her the news face-to-face. Soon the door bell rung. She lives in my block so it's no surprise that she's here so quick. I presumed towards the door and quickly opened it. My mom stood there with a smile on her face as usual. Without hesitation I leaned in for a hug and a kiss.

"Oh Leo I'm so happy to see you again after months of not seeing you!" My mom gushed. I led her to the couch and we sat down together. "I'm glad to see you too mom.. I've missed you" I added. "So how's Kate?" My mom asked. "She's doing fine, we're really happy mom, we really are!" I flashed a smile.

"Well you do seem very happy with her, you've always have! I could see it every time you're around her. I see it in her eyes as well. She really loves you Leo!" My mom said as she reached for my hand. I firmly held her hand. "She's the woman of my dreams mom, I couldn't ask for anyone else to be the mother of my children" I explained. "Children ?" My mom questioned. "You mean as in the future right?" My mom added.

"Very very soon mom!" I corrected. "What do you mean Leo?" My mom questioned once again. "Kate's pregnant mom! She called me up last night.. to let me know about the news! I'm going to be a dad !" I shouted. My moms eyes filled with tears as she covered her face. "And I will be a grandmother!" She joyfully cheered. "Oh sweetheart I can't believe it! You both will form such a beautiful family" my mom added. "Yes mom I have hope in that!" I agreed.

"I'm just so happy for you my son" my mom cried. "Thanks again, now mom don't cry, we're suppose to be happy right now" I joked.

•a few hours later•

Kate POV
The sun began to set, as I could tell from the horizon. I was missing Leo a lot, he's my rock. He's one of the most beloved people in my life, along with my children of course.

I walked out to my back porch and approached my hammock. I carefully sat down and felt something on my behind. I quickly got up to realized one of Leo's shirts had been laying there all this time. I grabbed it with both hands and held it close to my face where I was able to take in the scent. His scent was surely still on his shirt. I smiled and proceeded to lay down.

As the breeze swung me side to side, I felt something tower over me. It was Mia. "Hi mum" she greeted. I sat up and faced her. "Grandma called to let you know that she will be bringing the boys back tomorrow morning" Mia added. "Oh great. I've missed them! I said as I stood up from the hammock. Me and Mia went inside since it began getting dark.

I made myself some tea and went into the living area to watch some TV. I laid Leo's shirt flat on a chair as I made my way to the couch. Even though he's thousand of miles away, I still have something with me that reminded me of him. And no I'm no talking about his shirt, instead I'm talking about the little angel inside me.
