Sun rays shine through the gaps and crevasse of the shutters over my square window, illuminating the floors of my room. A large shadow is cast from my dresser which is adjacent from the bed, and another is cast by my open door. I hear the birds chirping from outside and the slight rustling of twigs and thin tree branches, the leaves falling one by one to the ground.

Pulling the soft, silk sheets off my bare legs, I stand; the carpet lightly scrunches under my weight, the sounds repeating as I walk. I stride to my window, opening the curtains a tad bit, peaking out from behind it. My irises pick up nothing but sameness.

Everything's the same as it was before. Cars of all different brands and colors are parked in the streets in front of houses, dead leaves are scattered along the gutters and vacant streets, just as they were yesterday. I avert my gaze from the lone street to the cracked driveway pad.

Not to my dismay, it's empty, just like every day. I pivot on my foot, my loose strands of chocolate hair falling over my shoulders, blinding me from seeing anything in front of me. I trip over my chair, crashing to the ground with a loud thud, but luckily the floors are carpeted, eradicating my fall.

Just then the rambunctious sound of pounding and scratching on a door vibrates the ground. I internally groan to myself, taking my time standing and pacing down the stairs. I don't bother taking a quick glance through the peephole because I know that it's most likely Rey.

I know, it's unsafe, but no one ever visits me besides Rey, Jordi, and occasionally Nicki. I grasp the metal handle, turning it at a seventy-degree angle, releasing the door from the lock, the hinges scuttling open. My eyes slightly dilate when I stare out into the open, no figure blocking my view.

I'm about to close the door, rolling my eyes at whoever made me come all the way down here, only to completely vanish. I guess you can add that to another thing I hate: ding-dong ditchers. When I swing the door closed, an opposing force pushes against the wood.

My eyes involuntarily flicker to the ground; there, ducking down is an animal with piercing blue eyes intensely staring up at me. My tongue is caught in a knot as I just stare down at the animal I've seen before. It shoves its way through the threshold and into the foyer of my house. It's only now that I realize the sheet dangling from its mouth, the animal's gigantic canines fully on display.

The wolf drops the sheet on the ground, sitting down and staring up at me then back down at the sheet. I give it a skeptical look, pinching my arm two and three times, though nothing happens, everything continues to play out. Kneeling down, I take the sheet within my hands, and the animal nods its head slightly.

My fingers tremble as they work to unfold it. Finally, the sheet is completely unfolded, and I hold it out at arm's length, not sure what to do furthermore. My ears pick up a series of cracking noises, and I whip my head around frantically, accidentally letting go of the sheet, it gracefully gliding to the ground.

I blink rapidly, grazing the ground, my eyes trailing upwards. My breaths come in heavy heaves, inhaling and exhaling repetitively. There standing in front of me is the one I thought I'd never have to come face to face with again. He stands tall with his chiseled chest on display, a black shirt within his hand.

A scream rises from the bottom of my throat, my mouth opening to release it...but nothing comes. His eyes scrutinize my being, and it feels as if he's suffocating me without even touching me. He lifts his arms up, placing the shirt over his head, his stare never flattering.

I back away from him until I feel the cold surface underneath my fingers, the smooth paint of the wall covering my hand.

"Get...out."
