Stepping out of the room, sure to close the door, I stride towards the stairs where Dane led me to my living quarters. Staying to the right, I hold onto the railing tightly as I descend each step slowly and carefully. I'm not the only one though, others behind me seem to do the exact same thing as if we were under a mind control spell.

I subtly peer over my shoulder craning my neck to see behind, and I'm met with glittering blue eyes of the Canids that live - in which I presume - the endless rows of doors that scatter the sustained and never-ending hallways. Every fifteen feet or so, there is a new door, leading to yet another room or perhaps an office, or maybe a storage room. With every step, it seems that the house only grows larger, the hallways becoming a labyrinth twisting every which way, left and right.

Stepping off the last step, I'm met with a large mass of people on the first floor, standing casually and conversing with a drink of sparkling champagne within their grasp. I wander through the crowd, weaving through the endless bodies; accidentally, I bomb into a few people here and there, which they only give me looks of bewilderment, but it's as if their emotion is quickly masked over once they see my face.

Just then, as I get lost in the crowd, they start to move. Each Canid marching at the same pace forward. I'm carried with the current, as they drag me to an unknown place that is immediately revealed to me as soon as the crowd separates.

I find myself standing in the front of the large, beautiful, antique dining room, the one that made my eyes glow with shock. The doubled walls stand tall as three crystal chandeliers hang from the ceiling, one large while the other two are slightly smaller versions. Each person strides to a table, grasping a chair and taking a seat. It's as if they know the routine down to the very last detail, though they might do this every night.

I'm lost, not knowing what to do, where to go, but that is until Damaris comes up from beside me, lacing her fingers within mine. The subtle action startling me.

"Come, darling, let us go take our seats," she says.

Our seats.

Mother leads me to the long table, the one that stands taller than the rest of the tables due to the fact that it stands on a stage. She says gentle 'hellos' to those we pass to get to our destination, while I just smile.

"Mom, what is this?" I ask, still confused as to why everyone is here.

"This," she stops to turn to me, "is dinner, and you are the guest of the night, darling," the words roll off her tongue as if she were practicing for this exact moment. Mother turns back, my hand still in hers as she leads the way to the table, and it's only now that I realize the added seat, making the original five seats now being six.

We ascend the two steps that lead up the stage, and Mother pulls out my seat, motioning for me to take a seat, and I do.

I smile slightly, "do you do this every night?" I ask, inferring to the large crowd of people, the room now bustling with voices of all sorts.

"Everyday accept Saturday," she beams.

I turn my attention back to the crowd, amazed at how this place just keeps getting better and better with every second. Mother takes her seat right beside me, and the other four seats are shortly taken by the Omegas that Dane told me vaguely about earlier.

I'm surprised when I find his face amongst the crowd, for I thought that he would be seated on the stage. The sudden feeling of discomfort takes over me. It feels as if I don't belong here, as if I'm not accepted here. Eyes dart to me, question and sneers painted on the faces of the people.

My thoughts are interrupted once my eyes flicker and land on a familiar face, the same blonde hooked to his arm. Alakade, as well as the unknown girl, take their seats, a wide smile on his lips, the sight unnerving. From the corner of my eye, I catch sight of my Mother standing from her chair, her glass and fork in two separate hands. She clashes the two dishes together, and the motion instantly quiets the crowd.

"Today," she starts, "we celebrate the day as one that has been completed, one with no conflict or hardship. I deeply thank each and every one of you for the hard work that you continually put forth to make life here successful. Today was the day I've been waiting for ten years. I would like to welcome the one I've been waiting for, home, my one true daughter. Please welcome Vivian Jaclyn Faith to the pack bind, to the blood! Her return has greatly longed, and now that she is here, everything has changed!" Every single person stands from their seats, placing their hands together and clapping, a few whistles erupting as Damaris pulls me to my feet.

Loud uproars come from the people, each one on their feet, clapping for their Luna. Mother parts her lips again, about to speak once more. Her loud voice comes bellowing loudly, echoing on each wall of the dining room. But she isn't the only one that bellows, but rather the rest of the population all in unison.

"The strength of the pack is the wolf, and the strength of the wolf is the pack!" They shout deliberately, their loud voices echoing.

They take their seats again, and I find Alakade staring up at me, but I pay no attention. I take my seat as well, as Damaris does too. She turns to me, a wide smile spread across her cherry painted lips.

"The pack that you now belong to," she faintly whispers, but turns back to the people, bellowing the two words I've been waiting for, "let's eat!"
