Striding through the halls, it feels as if something is different, something has changed, something has reciprocated; I feel that it's my doing, my fault...all my fault. I stop by my locker, on the way to my destination, no one pays attention to me - which is a good thing - but I hardly catch the familiar umber haired girl rushes past from the corner of my eye.

She turns the corner, vanishing within seconds. I turn my attention back to my locker, a puzzled look overtaking my features. Shortly after, a hear, well, rather see, a pair of new KD shoes, standing right beside me. I step away from my locker door, revealing Jordi - towering over me by almost a foot - standing, his eyes focused in the direction of the way Rey just went.

"Doesn't she seem off to you?" He asks, still never making eye contact.

"Yeah, yeah she does."

"And why does it seem like Adrian can't get his eyes off you?" I'd have to be deaf if I didn't hear the touch of jealousy in his voice.

"What do you mean?" My voice comes out high, higher than I intended, when saying this, for it feels as if a wave of salt water from a massive hurricane is drowning me, and this is all to the simple state of his name. It seems now that all you'd have to do is say his name, and I'm hyperventilating.

"Look for yourself," he tilts his head, suggestively towards where I assume the demon is standing.

I crane my neck to the side, but when I do, I'm met with nothing, nothing at all. There's nothing but an empty hallway with rows upon rows, yet there's no him.

No him at all.

"Where?" It almost comes out like a squeak.

"He's right there, leaning against the lockers, not even hiding it," his tone bitter, I see from the corner of my eyes him crossing his arms, after running a furious hand through his matching umber locks like Rey's.

"I don't see him," and it's true, there's nothing, no one, no one standing there like Jordi is claiming, at least, not that I can see.

"What do you mean, you can't see him? He's standing right there, clear as day," he repeats, not wanting to let go of the subject. "I swear if that creep comes any closer his-"

"Jordi," I round to face him, his jaw clenched his sharp jawline on full display, looking almost Greek God-like. To the closing of my locker, his attention snaps to me, instantly. "You don't need to worry about it, just leave it alone. Like you said, he's a creep, so don't get anywhere near him," I convey urgently. Just the thought of Jordi being abducted or killed by the psycho killer demon, makes my stomach do flips, churning, the stomach acid ready to come up at any given second and scorch my throat, burning off the cells.

"Just because you're all the sudden blind, doesn't change the fact that he's still staring, and it makes me uncomfortable, alright?" He conveys, rather harshly, to me, not leaving any room for any further negotiation. He gives me one last glance, before readjusting his bag on his shoulder, stalking off another way, leaving me to stand there all alone, no one else around, but that's what scares me.

I can't see him. He could be anywhere. He could be in front of me for all I know, and I'd be oblivious to his presence, that is if he's still here.

Why can't I see him?

It's almost as if he has the cloak of invisibility, completely transparent to my eyes. I'm about to start on my trek through the campus, when a hoarse voice from behind me booms through the hallway, making me jump out of my skin.

"How are you feeling?"

I rotate to come face to face with Alakade, his unnaturally blue eyes sparkling under the vague light that the skylights give off, illuminating the hallways very faintly, the open windows staring off into the city giving the rest of the light.

"Ican'tseehim," I say, all in one breath, all as if it were one word, one word with no spaces. I instantly stare down at the ground, his gaze too intimidating.

"What?" I look up again, but find him with his brows knitted, staring at my face, confusion was written all over his delicate facial features.

"I can't see him," I repeat, this time in separate words, not rushed, yet still quiet, almost like a whisper.

"See who?" I stay silent, completely oblivious to the fact if he's standing near or not, but I would know due to Alakade.

"See who, Vivian?" He places a hand on my shoulder, giving my body a slight jolt to get my attention.

"I can't see Athen, he's invisible," I say in a hushed tone.

Alakade lets go of me, "how do you know this?"

"Jordi, he saw him standing right there," I point the spot quickly, Alakade's eyes following my finger fast, "he said that he was standing right there, watching me. He wasn't being subtle, it's almost as if he knew he was invisible, to me,"

Alakade lets out a sigh of frustration, pivoting off his foot, turning away from me as he rapidly scratches at his neck, his shoulder muscles flexing through his short sleeve gray shirt.

"What?" I ask very detectably.

"He's doing this to make it harder to attack...."

"Doing what? I don't understand, what is he doing, why is he doing this?" He turns back to me now, his eyes seeming to become a darker, more prominent, shade of dark midnight blue.

"He's doing this to get to you, to get to you without you knowing. He's doing this to make it easier to kill, less difficult. He's going to kill you, Vivian, I can't let that happen."

"All lives have a beginning and an end, and yours is coming real soon, my dear"
