I wrote a book
Of rhyme and reason
Of simple words
For time and season

Of heartfelt thoughts
Of lying treason
Of long lost moments
To try be redone

You'll find it here
My small what-ifs
My wistful ponders
My hanging cliffs

My if-onlys
My longing one-days
The things that I
Could never say

My mind, its thoughts
My heart, its dreams
And everything else
Or so it seems

Exhibited
For you to see
I'm no one special
Only me

Not so perfect
Not so great
Try to keep
My head on straight

Life just spilling
Off my plate
No command
Over my fate

But in that book
I think I found
A place to look
In pages bound

So give a read
And give a thought
Perhaps you'll find
The words you sought

For in my words
I'm never lost
And in my words
I find solace
