I wrote a book
Of rhyme and reason
Of simple words
For time and seasonOf heartfelt thoughts
Of lying treason
Of long lost moments
To try be redoneYou'll find it here
My small what-ifs
My wistful ponders
My hanging cliffsMy if-onlys
My longing one-days
The things that I
Could never sayMy mind, its thoughts
My heart, its dreams
And everything else
Or so it seemsExhibited
For you to see
I'm no one special
Only meNot so perfect
Not so great
Try to keep
My head on straightLife just spilling
Off my plate
No command
Over my fateBut in that book
I think I found
A place to look
In pages boundSo give a read
And give a thought
Perhaps you'll find
The words you soughtFor in my words
I'm never lost
And in my words
I find solace
